Formal announcement? He is the one who placed it on his myspace account. That was his way of saying to the public that he is no longer single. About Jaci being divorced & God's grace, you should ALL read the Bible. God is a forgiving God but he does not want people to divorce; no matter what statistics say about you.
The Bible clearly states that God permitted divorce because of people's hardheadedness but he did not permit anyone to remarry while the other party is still alive.
All I can say is, even they are considered as role models in the Christian world, they are clearly not good role models. Nic is flirty pasrtor's kid & Jaci is a divorced woman who cannot stand by her decision to get married. When you get married, you stick with the person thru thick or thin, unless there is adultery involved. If this is the case she can divorce but not remarry.
I am not throwing the first stone at anyone but I think everyone needs to go back to the roots of Christianity & read the Bible.

Obviously no one is perfect. But like I said, God hates divorce. Who are you to question that? Read your Bible. Malachi 2:13-16 & 1 Corinthians 7:10-11.
I just feel bad because people who claim to be Christians are bending God's words. There is no other gospel except for the one written in the Bible; hands down. And by the way, God did not force these people to SWEAR unto Him to stay together forever yet they did it during their marriage. And after 2 years get a divorce...
Marriage is obviously hard. It is a constant battle. But if you live by God's word, He is going to help you through it.

1) if you HATE being a Christians because of OTHERS then i think you should read your GOSPELS the right way. You almost sound like a pharisee to me - condemning others...
Dont take God's place and start judging others.
Read your Bible and do whats right, admonished IN LOVE if you have to but dont go around preaching and then saying that you HATE being a Christian because of people like us (meaning the board memebers).

You're wrong.
Remarriage is allowed upon death (1 Cor. 7:39, 1 Tim. 5:14, and Rom. 7:32), after adultery, an unbelieving person leaves (1 Cor. 7:15), and because of emotional or physical neglect.
I doubt you know the exact circumstances of Jaci's divorce so again, watch that plank.

Jaci and Nic are married, whether you like it or not. I'm really happy for them and I think this is getting a bit out of control. You should wait for them to make the news more public. Jaci's uploaded some pics to her MySpace Street Team (which is set to private btw) and that's all I've seen, aside from the fact that Nic changed his status to "married" on his MySpace.

Remarriage is never allowed. I don't know which book you are reading. I do not know what circumstance Jaci's first marriage was in but I believe you can divorce but not remarry...

I don't think you can forbid someone, a human being, to get married. Is it better to have a married life without being married then?? I don't think that's right in front of God's eyes either.
