I have a boyfriend and he just recently got two tattos and i am a saved devoted christian and he goes to church occasionally i just need help and advice should i end this relationship or what??!!

hey kat what's going on? Well I think that you dont necessarily should leave that relationship apart, because I think that this person would feel like u are judging him because of the tat. I think you should be an example by just being the person you are, and even though our bodies are the temple of God, and tats are like graffity, just let him know that there is a better way that he can follow. Wow...this is a very sensitive issue and no matter what advice you receive from this message board, I strongly encourage you to pray and ask God Himself what He thinks about this. I know He will answer you because He loves you and wants the best for you and for this guy your going out with.
I also suggest that you refer to someone closer to you, who knows both you and your boyfriend well. A godly person whom you trust and look up to.
Yes we are called to be salt and light to the world. And you should be a good example to your boyfriend and encourage him to get to know Jesus more and more. But you must be sure of where you stand and be stable first. I cannot and will not advice you whether or not to carry on this relationship because I don't know you well enough. But because you're my sister in Christ and I wanna look out for you, I will (and have already) give you some suggestions on how to make up your mind.
You can definately pray for your boyfriend and for yourself and ask God what He thinks about this. In the meantime, you might also wanna get around some friends who are level headed and who love you and are able to weigh this matter both for your good and this guy's good as well.
Maybe you can also have talk with your boyfriend and get to know where his stand is on his relationship with Jesus. As for me, if something causes me to doubt, I'd seek God first, pray about it. I'd then bring the issue to my pastor and his wife because they are the people whom I trust and they know me well. They'll pray for me too and from experience - I always get the answers I'm looking for with confirmation! God always answers us - but in various ways.

See...that's why I like reading Gaby's posts. She's just awesome, and knows what she's talking about. It's as simple as this...

It all comes down to prayer, girl. Of course, the Lord wants for the both of you to follow him, but when you are dating someone who isn't on the same level as you (unequally yoked), it can bring you down or draw you away from the Lord, because it's easier to fall. I don't think that the tattoo thing is the real issue here. It seems as though you feel doubt, and with that, something (or someone) is telling you to re-evaluate your relationship with this young man. The only thing I can tell you is pray, and leave your relationship in God's hands. He knows exactly what to do. Afterall, what's the worst that could happen? You break up, and go your separate ways? If that's the case, that just leaves more room for you to draw nearer to the Lord. And if it works out for the both of you, then keep on being an example to him. Good luck and God bless.
