I am praying that the Lord would send you back here to Seattle, WA.

I LOVE,LOVE LOVE!!! the new CD. Cannot listen to "You Are There" without dancing and crying at the same time. It reminds me of not only who the LORD is in my life, but of the music I grew up with in L.A.... El Chicano, Tierra, Thee Midnighters and of course Santana.

At our Easter Service I have been blessed by being asked to performed "Cry Holy" with a choir and band. I love that song and cannot believe I've been asked to sing it. I only hope I will do the song justice and glorify the Lord. My prayer is that everyone I invite will feel the tug at their hearts from the whole service and will take the walk forward and give their lives to Christ!

Praying for you all and your loved ones.

Salvador has been a blessing here in Illinois too. I was lucky enough to see them (with my family) in concert recently and their new CD so natural is very adictive. Any other worship music now is BLAH compared to Salvador's Pasion filled music.
I just ordered online the dvd of their concert in new mexico so I can bring Salvador to my home and share it with friends when they visit. My whole family enjoys Salvador: My husband plays the drums with the cd, My son (11)refuses to shower unless the cd is playing and my daughter (16)already knows all the lyrics. For me, Salvador is what I listen to and from work.At the concert, we were able to see four of the band members and they interacted with us and behaved down to earth and were a wondeful example to me and my kids of what is to be Christ like even when you are famous. Love you all. Pray for you too.

Hey there Debbie A,
I can agree with you in saying that Salvador's music is very addictive. I also find that after listening to their music, I hardly ever listen to any other CDs anymore - Big Grin
I get quite bored listening to other CDs, but with Salvador's CDs I never get bored. I've got 3 of their albums plus their live DVD and I rotate listening to them all. I don't understand Spanish but I think their Spanish album is LOVELY STUFF.
Now So Natural is just something else! I mentioned in another post that I love the lyrics to every song that's on that CD. So meaningful, so real, just to real. If it weren't called So Natural it would be called So Real! Hahaha!
Well, I'm definately blessed by these guys. I'm just a bit bummed that they have not come to this part of the world yet. It would be lovely to praise God with them in person! What a privilege.
Anyways...these guys are really livin it for the Lord. Great stuff!

God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever!

Hi Ladies,

I agree with both of you. Their music is wonderful! We need more of it.

But as far as only listening to only "their" stuff, I'm sure that the band would agree, that listening to other artists or other styles is how one grows in the love of music. Like on their first album, the song "La Montaña," is an old traditional mexican song. "David Danced" was written by Duke Ellington and they probably grew up with those songs in church. If the guys were not willing to listen to other stuff, we wouldn't have the great music they are putting out.

What I listening to alot of outside "the guys," is Terry Clark http://www.catalystministries.com/, not hispanic but same meating sound.

Fernando Ortega. He is awesome.

Dave Morrow Band. A worship leader out in CA. http://www.calvaryle.org/music.html This worship leader takes you to a deep level of worship and intimacy with the Lord.

Howard Hewett. http://www.howardhewett.com/home.asp Used to be with a band called Shalamar back in the 70's and 80's. He put out Christian CD called "The Journey. It's funk and RB at it's finest. I was listening to THAT CD non-stop for a few months. It's awesome.

And I can't forget MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin....the list goes on and on.

So that's my spin on that. :-)

Lo

Hi there Losassaman!
Yeah I guess you're right...as much as Salvador's music is so addictive and lively, I have actually been trying to widen my scope of styles of music. But I must say that what really draws me is Jazz, R&B and funk. I quite enjoy a little rap here and there as some of these rappers have very clever lyrics. I know it's mainly full of slang but it's still clever I think. Besides listening only to Christian songs I'm also listening to alot more secular ones as well. I must say that there is just a vast array of creativity out there in the music world be it Christian or secular.
THanks for the websites man....I'll check them out for sure. God bless!

God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever! YEAH!
