I was flippin through the radio stations and was on the upper end of the dial where there aren't any Christian stations and I heard Heaven and stopped. Mix 102.9 (the station that put MercyMe on mainstream radio) was now playing Salvador! This is great. Finally, band that clearly overtly Christian in their lyrics are being played on mainstream radio. If you are in the Dallas area, please call Mix, thank them and ask them to continue to play Heaven.

Oops! I just realized that there is another version of that song out there by another Texas latino band that I do believe are from Austin named Los Lonely Boys. Does anybody know how both bands got the song at the same time? I'm thinking the version I heard on both Mix 1029 as well as KVIL this morning are the Los Lonely Boys versions.

I just read a review of So Natural that stated that they covered Los Lonely Boys song. I was hoping Nic wrote the song and Los Lonely Boys covered it.

Yes the Garza brothers did write the song first, but to be honest Salvador plays it better, and Nic sings it better too. Also, don't be decieved by the song that they wrote, Los Lonley Boys aren't very Christian, well atleast Ringo Garza isn't. I just saw yesterday on Celebrity Justice that Ringo was caught with 2 ounces of majiguana. The song may have a good message, but Los Lonley Boys aren't living that message, and salvador is. That's why I believe that "Heaven" goes more with Salvador.

wow, that's pretty judgemental of you "SALVADOR FREAK". To say that Ringo isn't a christian is means you must know him pretty well. Yes he was caught with marijuana, however you can't tell me that christians don't fall, even when they're serving God. You can't tell me that you haven't sinned, right?
Think before you speak.
Besides, LLB does sing the song alot better. (my own opinion)

Newsflash for everyone......

Los Lonely Boys - whether Christian or not - are known around Austin as party boys. And my understanding is that the song "Heaven" was not intended to be a song necessarily about the place we as Christians look forward to.

As well, there is no distinct difference between the Lonely Boys Version and Salvador's. Salvador plays the song exactly the same, even down to where the breaks are put in. Now as for he sings it better - it is a matter of opinion I guess because I personally go with the Lonely Boys........
