Hello,

I'm new to this board.

I often hear Stellar Kart's awesome song "Me and Jesus" on the local "God rock" radio station Q90 FM.

I come from a punk/indie rock backround. And I was a big fan of Anti-xian bands like Bad Religion.

My mom was a huge bible-banger, and her constant preaching and "holier than thou" turned me off.

Luckily, however, it did turn me on to punk rock. So I grew up conflicted. I wanted to be accepted by my punk, "heathen" friends while, at the same time, I wanted to please my mother.

Stellar Kart shows me that these things, actually, don't conflict with eachother. It's totally religious to think for yourself [assuming your inner voice doesn't tell you to kill Jews].

I believe that Jesus was sent to Earth to be an archetype, as well as a symbol to be used for all Generations...of ALL times.

but if you meant Jesus as a symbol of our salvation, then i'm probably just having a blonde moment being confused

By this, I mean thst Jesus was sent to show that one can be, both, cool AND moral. He's the prime example of how to live our lives... Call me a Flanders, but I totally want to be like Jesus.
