Dear Mr. Schultz: 12 years ago, I proposed to my wife at the restaurant at the top of the World Trade Center. On 9/11, I watched in horror from my office in Jersey City (right across the river) as the towers burned and collapsed. People around me screamed and cried knowing their loved ones were there.
Time has passed and, just as those towers crumbled, so did much of our marriage. HOWEVER, God is a God of hope and renewal... About a year ago, God placed a song in my heart. It is a simple song, set against an epic backdrop, about the night we were engaged and what has happened since. I have been recording it since May, finished it yesterday, and today I presented it to her as a gift for our 11th anniversary. If you knew the serious trouble in which our marriage has been, you would know this is a miracle: SHE LOVES THE SONG! We both cried and God has moved His strong Hand on our behalf once again! All of my prayers, and the prayers of my faithful friends at church, have been answered in regard to this song. Now, the reason I'm writing to you: My wife wants the song to be used to help the 9/11 victims, especially the children. I thought of you, and I'm writing to you FIRST because of your heart. I saw you at the teaching concert GMA's "Seminar in the Rockies" when you had your head shaved in support of the little boy suffering from cancer. I hear the songs you sing like "Letters From War" (which makes me cry again and again!). God will use this song. Would you like to hear it? If it is not right for you, then perhaps you could refer me to someone who would put it to use for The Lord. Please contact me at the email attached to my userid here. Yours In Christ ... Hank Stansfield : ) |
