Normally when we all write our recaps, they are only a day long. Somehow Jay and I got blessed to have a two day George encounter, and I do mean blessed you all. I just want to say that I have never expected to see George or spend time with him at different places, but that instead God has really blessed me from the very beginning with somehow bringing George into my life as a friend. If we all just look back to how everything started its just AMAZING to see how our our little "family" has grown and everyone just means a lot to me. I sincerely hope that at one point or another that everyone that wants to gets to meet George. For example on this trip...I had some first timers from my friends and family that got to meet him and they ALL walked away feeling completely touched. My aunt even said, "This is the best Saturday night Ive had in my life, EVER.". George just seems to do that to us all, doesnt he? Never forget it either Big Grin

Okay okay....on to the recap. This was a city of Ashland anniversary festival they had going on, but also right downtown was Poage Landing Days in Ashland too. They basically had almost all of downtown blocked off and at least 2 different concerts going on that I saw. There was lots to do, crafts, t-shirts, toys, games, food, it was really the perfect setting to see George. The people that actually came with me was my best friend Sarah, my mom Teresa, my aunt Tammy, my cousin Amanda (we look so much alike, especially when i was her age!), and her friend Savannah who absolutely LOVES George I was told beforehand. Of course we all know Jay came and actually all of us met him there. He had already been there because he judged a BBQ cook off. Ill let him tell you all about that if he wants to lol. So we met Jay out infront of the church around 5:30 pm. The event didnt start until 7 and George didnt sing until 8:30 so really the only people there was members of the church and different workers. We immediately met Zach there and I just want to publically thank him again for everything he did for us, he was so welcoming as was Pastor Phil & Debbie, everyone at Kings Way Church (I forget many of the names but everyone I met was absolutely charming), and also to George's road manager Devon who was just very sweet and let us spend quality time with George and I really appreciate him working it out. And Trish for EVERYTHING you've done on getting information, I love you so much!

So we are just infront of the church and they are setting things up. We were told that memebers of the church were about to pick up George at his hotel and bring him down to do a soundcheck and then afterwards he would have a meet and greet. So we are just standing around waiting for him to get back and there were about 50 people standing around from either the festival or the church and then George comes!!! He immediately spots Jay and I and threw his hands up in the air with praise and we ran towards him. He said JAY!!!! TARA!!! OMG YOU GUYS LOOK GREAT!!! He grabbed my hand and made me twirl infront of him hehe it was so cute! We hugged and hugged and hugged and then hugged some more. I remember turning around to the people that came with me, all of them had not met them except for my mother and I forgot that they would be so shocked. Their eyes were kind of big haha and they were just really surprised at how excited George was. George was on the ground in excitement and its just amazing how he treats others, complete strangers he would treat them with such honor and respect. You can see that God is in his heart. So after many hugs George ran to my family members and friends. We introduced them to everyone and George was just so overwhelmed to meet them and vice versa. I know we all say this but its true..George is more excited to meet you then you meet him. You can tell he just LOVES people and if he knows any of us then he especially wants to meet the people in our lives too...its just unbelievable. We talked to him for quite a few minutes there but a crowd had started to gather and the thing is, George would stand there and talk to us all day Im sure but its only fair that all the others get to say hello too and I want them to meet George for sure...its life changing! So we stepped aside and let the others greet him because we knew we were extremely fortunate enough to see him later on. Then he did his sound check and of course we cheered him on hehe. That lasted about a half hour maybe and then he went into the church for the meet and greet.

The meet and greet was mostly for the kids but some adults got to go in too, including all of us. So the meet and greet was actually in a room upstairs in the church but we sat downstairs and waited for everyone else to see him and when they were done we went upstairs and got to see George. People from the church had a camera rolling the whole time and George called me and Jay and to the front of the room. George started saying all these amazing things about Jay and I and we were very shocked because I had no idea that my life inspired George in the same ways that he infact inspired my life too! I got very teary eyed. He told the few members of the church that were up there about how Jay and I (and about the 5 others or so..you know who you are) had been there with him since day 1 and he said that our testimony is what really inspired him. *SHOCKED* I really was you guys. I just remember my heart getting all warm and fuzzy and I know God is always there. We told them the story about how all of us got together and they were amazed at the story too and how for the most part we still keep in touch after all this time. And let me just say I know that I talk to some of you more then others lately but I KNOW deep in my heart that whenever I need you, you ALL are there for me and vice versa. So no matter what else may go on ever its very special to know that there are people I can turn to from now until forever. So we were up there until a little bit after 7 pm and then they said they had to take George back to his hotel so he could get ready for the show. George said he would see us there and that he wanted to hang out for a little while after the show too.

Sooooooo we went to eat some dinner and came back and the show began! We were right upfront and had our white towels of course! haha actually I have to tell you this story. When George first came to the church he had this towel but it wasnt quite WHITE WHITE ya know? A little off white haha and he said,"I couldnt find a white towel so I borrowed this one from the hotel." haha. I said,"well George I have plenty here!" So he took one of mine for his show. He sounded amazing and a lot of the show was improv. You could TELL the holy spirit was there. I mean we were outside, right infront of the church there was a stage, a beautiful clear night sky. I really felt the holy spirit, how could you not when you're just standing outside crying out to God...he really listened and the holy spirit came! He sang Real Love, Bounce, Brighter Day, See What God Can Do, Miracles, Hold Onto Love, You Know Me, Only Love, Feels Like Heaven, and you'll never guessssss STAND!!! He did an accapella version of Stand and I wish I had it on tape, sorry guys! Actually Jay had told him before the show that he wished he could sing that song and George said that was the only song he didnt have a track for with him...and then he said but you never know guys! And thats right.....he felt led to sing it and he surely did. WOW when he sang the part, "God has a purpose yes God has a plan" I swear the whole city of Ashland could hear him, he really meant it and it gave me chills. Like I said he did a lot of improv and just would felt led to sing some hymns. I remember specifically him singing "Hallelujah" and I cried. I had chills almost the whole time...it was a very interactive show. Its just.....from talking to George before all these amazing things have happened to me with his career...just by getting to know his heart and all...I just always felt like this is what God wanted him to do. Of course that is a question only George can answer and obviously he has answered the call and its just amazing to see all the lives his testimony is starting to inspire others. I mean wouldnt most of you agree who have been in the same situation.....didnt you feel in your heart that God was really using George not only in your life but for others too. Well I can only speak for myself and I know thats how I felt from Day 1. He never had to tell me he was a christian I knew and every since the first day I talked to him I told him that I saw the light of God around him...I really did.

So the concert was amazing.......

(Im going to go ahead and post this part and then do another post for the rest of the weekend next...)

HUGE, HUGE thanks for the recaps!!!

Jay & Tara, I'm so glad you got to spend time with George. Not because he's a celebrity, not because of his talent, but spending time with someone who is so filled with the Lord just rubs off on you, and charges you up to no end! Tara, just reading your words in that last post made my hair stand up! God is right there in your words, travelling from your time spent with George right to me!! How wonderful God is!!

Thanks again for sharing your stories, you guys. I miss you!!!

George!!! Thank you for blessing two of your greatest friends and fans. Jay & Tara and special indeed!!! Cool

After the concert was over he did an autograph signing which took awhile. We waited over by the church for him to get finished. As soon as he was done with the last person he came over to sarah, jay, and i who were the only ones sitting over on the steps. He sat down there with us and we just talked and talked about everything. Just imagine if you can....a beautiful clear pleasant fall night, sitting out infront of this beautiful church on the steps, talking with George just about everything. I really think it was my favorite part of the weekend because it was just so relaxing and personal and nobody bothered us and we just had some nice heart to hearts with him. I wont go into the personal things we all talked about but as far as career things he is working on some new things for the future...which is exciting. He said that possibly there will be a site coming out that will release exclusive music and videos of his in the future...but I guess its still being talked about. I think that would be AWESOME if that did happen though. We got to talk for quite awhile but then his food got there and he was about to go eat with some of the church members. So we said our goodbyes and of course we always have to hug about 50 million times haha. We're all constantly like, "i love you i love you i love you" hehe. So then I took Jay home and my friend Sarah drove back to Athens, OH and I went home and talked to a few of you and then went straight to bed to get to church in the morning.

Well I must say that I didnt feel 100% when I woke up Sunday morning but I was too excited to see George to pay attention to it. We all got dressed up and went to the church. Its a very old church but I think its beautiful inside and I loved the windows (you can see in some of the pictures the windows). I have to say this church is NOT A DEAD CHURCH...it is FULL of the holy spirit and I LOVED that church so much. Everyone is so nice and its a very diverse church too!!! I told Pastor Phil and his wife Debbie that I would like to come visit even though I already have my own home church. They had a small choir but a powerful one, WOW! We were all there praising God for sure. Of course I do not have to tell you about George's testimony (which saves me from a lot of typing) because its available on the internet at www.kingswaychurchky.com !!! So go check it out, you'll hear a very special surprise/sound haha and when you hear it you'll know exactly what Im talking about Im sure! After church George hugged us all and we talked for awhile but naturally other church members wanted their time too and of course I understood that. By this time of the weekend they all knew that we were friends with him and they were soooooo respectful and nice and I hope they think we had the same respect too. I really felt like I made some great friends there and I loved the church! So we talked as long as we could but then I said that we were going to go ahead and say our goodbyes so he could see the others. He said, "But you guys......Im really really really going to miss you." I was like "awwwww we will tooo BUT we will see you very soon and we will talk to you on the phone and text message you." He said "good because that REALLY brightens up my day to hear from you guys."

I had such a greattttttttttttt weekend, WOW! I know I probablly left out some little details, hopefully Jay can fill in some of the stuff that I left out. Jay you can type out some of the silly conversations we had with George if you want to lol. Like I said that.....a couple hours after I got home from seeing George I had to go to the urgent care center because I had soooooo much pain. So it was a weird day for me....it was very awesome yet really crappy at the same time ya know? But I will be okay, I just have a bladder infection. I thought for sure that I had a kidney stone but thank God that I dont. You'll also hear that George's testimony talked about healing too......so even though this infection isnt something SERIOUS I still gave it over to God. God STILL heals you all :-). Anyways if you can ever go see George, please go! He almost always does autograph signings so I know you will get to meet him and I promise you will come back feeling quite different. Honestly I dont know of anyone who has met George and didnt say they had the best time ever. Im just so proud of him for stepping out in faith through out all the times he has in his life and it really seems he is going in the direction where God wants him. I still feel like God will keep using him and using him and we should all keep praying for his strength and faith and that God will use him to shine his light onto others. I just personally thanked George for his friendship and I feel so blessed God sent me a friend here on Earth that inspires me so much and in return helps me strengthen my own faith through his example. Thats what its all about, we are here to love each other and help each other. I just really feel blessed and had to share it! My heart is overjoyed! Amen

Its so easy to get caught up into daily life and not think about the future. But we all have a higher calling I believe. I mean I know most people focus on Heaven and that is a GOOD thing BUT...we have a purpose on Earth as well. I just think that God has called upon George to do something great here on Earth and I hope one day I know exactly what God wants me to do as well. It may be something small or something large but they are all equally important when God calls us to do work for him.

My whole point is....its just funny if you try to compare George to winning American Idol vs. what he's doing now because there is no comparison. When the world ends only what we do for God will matter...a tv show will not matter anymore. Im just really happy for George! He's inspiring people to get closer to God. I mean I know that I look at him and see his joy and think, "I want that too!" and he has helped me so much from Day 1. Im just really thankful and I want to say that I love the Lord with all of my heart!

congrats on the new grand sone miss lilly!!!! Thats so awesome!!!

I really feel that the Lord is calling George to do more too, possibly preach. At church yesterday he said to the congregation that he "was no preacher" but he really had the words flowing out of his mouth like he was, the holy spirit was there! But I guess that is between George and God and whatever he is called to do we will back him up of course.

I love you Miss Lilly! Cant wait to see the pictures when you get them!!!
