here is the article written by Heather at Kriselen.com

George Huff: The Greatest Love of All
George Huff, one of the top five American Idol finalists from Season 3 who is known for his charismatic, serene personality and huge smile, is sharing more than just his talent with the world-he's sharing a gift of love.

George Huff grew up being what he explains as an "Ukrel" character in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was very nerdy, and when not studying, he was singing in his church choir. He was trying to pay off debt at college by washing dishes when he heard of auditions that would change his life. George felt forced by a higher power to have his voice heard, so when he auditioned in front of Simon and Randy on American Idol singing 'You Are So Beautiful to Me', it was almost ironic, because after learning about Mr. Huff, you will realize how beautiful he is!

"I talked to God and went to the audition," George begins. "Simon picked me for a wild-card. I never thought I would reach this point. When this [American Idol] happened for me, I was like 'WOW!' It was definitely a miracle. That's why my album is called 'Miracles'-my life has been full of them".

On October 11th, George's debut Christian/R&B album was released. With 11 songs on the album, 5 in which he co-wrote, George tells us, "I'm sharing a message of hope and love and inspiration in to the hearts of people (more importantly LOVE because it's something that's definitely lacking of people all over the globe)". As far as his inspiration and Christian sound, he explains, "Everything I do as far as the word and the bible is what I do because I brought it back to the root of what the lord commanded us to do. He said out of so many things, 'the greatest is that you love one another'. I put my music to the way that everybody of all races and all creeds and cultures can understand that if you don't do that one thing, and that's love one another, we're going to perish".

George was witness to how true this message was. He actually wrote his song 'Hold on to Love' before the devastation that would strike his family, friends, and loved ones-Hurricane Katrina, but he believes that everyone will rise above this. Some of the words in the song are: 'Through the storm, through the rain, I will higher ground again if I keep holding on to love. Through the fire, through the night, love will help me see the light just as long as I hold on to love'. "It's the love that's going to bring us to higher ground and bring the spirit and life back to the home of so many," George says. "As long as you hold on to love we're going to make it; we're going to recover."

You may remember George from his favorite performance on Idol-when he sang Elton John's 'Take Me to the Pilot'. The thing he would like most to be known for though is "my way and how I deal with people and my love for the next person," he says. "I never want to be self-centered and think of my own well-being because there's a world that cries. You have to look outside yourself and try to help somebody else. This has to do with my song 'Fortunes'. When you smile; when you give people a loving energy, it does something no matter what problems there are. The reason why the whole universe is the way it is, is because we don't love one another; we don't understand each other." Hopefully listeners will be able to grasp the empowering messages from George's mouth and let them in to their hearts to make this world a better place.

Aside from George Huff sharing excellent inspirational music and using his voice to spread the word and love in the world, he is currently auditioning at Paramount Pictures and says that he has some things in the mix. So, be sure to keep your eye out for this amazing idol!

INTERVIEW
You were born with a gift. You began singing at such a young age. You took your gift and are using it now to spread the word. You've kinda always sang gospel?
George: I've always sang gospel in churches all over the city of New Orleans and in Louisiana. That's all I knew at one point. And yes, I'm sharing a message of hope and love and inspiration in to the hearts of people (more importantly LOVE because it's something that's definitely lacking of people of all over the globe). Everything I do as far as the word and the bible is what I do because I brought it back to the root of what the lord commanded us to do. He said out of so many things, 'the greatest is that you love one another'. I put my music to the way that everybody of all races and all creeds and cultures can understand that if you don't do that one thing, and that's love one another, we're going to perish.

That's an incredible message to share and who better to share that than you with your voice. You grew up in New Orleans and there's a place that needs love and hope.
George: That's right-miracles! We were there when Katrina hit. I went there last weekend. It's slowly but surely coming together in certain areas, but there's still a lot that needs to be done and a lot of recovery of course. It was definitely nice to be back home. I visited my 85-year-old fan Miss Lilly, I saw my dentist, my voice doctor. It was refreshing to be back home and see so many people I didn't expect to see there.

Were you or family members effected personally by Katrina?
George: Yes ma'am. My family lost a lot of their things. My dad was one who was stuck in his home. Everyone had this idea that it wasn't going to be that bad. Some of my uncles were swimming in the water. Some of my family was in the Superdome and the stories they tell are much more horrific than the ones that you saw on TV. One day at a time.

What gave you that push to try out for American Idol or did you know that this was something you had to do?
George: I had not a clue that I would go through an audition. I watched 'American Idol' before and I didn't even think it was real. I feel like I was forced to in to the competition in my own way. The only way I felt comfortable in front of people was singing. I didn't know what to do. (George was trying to pay off debt at college at this time by washing dishes). I figured I'd go with the word. I figured my spirituality and the lord would motivate me and empower me. I talked to God and went to the audition. Simon picked me for a wild-card. I never thought I would reach this point. I was a nerd. Growing up, I was the Steve Urkel character. The first day that show aired, I knew it was going to happen-I had to hear it the rest of my life. When this (American Idol) happened for me, I was like 'WOW!' It was definitely a miracle. That's why my album is called 'Miracles'-my life has been full of them.

What would you give other 'Steve Urkels' in the world?
George: To all of the Urkles out there: Express your urkleism! This is who I am, but I am going to use this to be confident in who I am and make it in being myself!

I remember when your season started, I heard so many people say 'I love George Huff!' America loves you.
George: Tell them I love them too and I can't wait to meet them all and we'll go have tea.

What was your audition song on AI?
George: You Are So Beautiful To Me. The reason I threw it back was because a lot people go in and sing songs that are up to date, but I didn't want them to have to compare me to an artist who was out there. And people are so beautiful to me. I went in and sung and the first thing the judges said of course was, "George, you sound like an old man." Well it was an old song and I had a heavy texture in my voice. So they asked to hear something else and so I sang K.C. and JoJo and made my voice a little lighter. Paula wasn't there and Simon said 'It's a 'no' for me', and Randy said 'George, I like you and we're going to give you another chance-you're going through to Hollywood'. I was like 'OH MY GOD'!

What was your most favorite performance that you did on American Idol?
George: By far it was 'Take Me to the Pilot' by Elton John.

Who was one of the greatest people you met throughout your journey?
George: Everyone! Someone I met who I couldn't talk and was saying the same thing over and over again was Patti LaBelle.

'Miracle' is your album that released?
George: Yes, October 11th my debut album was released. It is titled 'Miracle' because that is what my life is influenced by and I know that a lot of other people can relate to just finding a miracle moment in their life.

Can you give me a favorite line or lyrics from one of your songs?
George: Yeah, that would be from 'Hold on to Love'. I wrote that before Katrina. 'Through the storm, through the rain, I will higher ground again if I keep holding on to love. Through the fire, through the night, love will help me see the light just as long as I hold on to love'. It's the love that's going to bring us to higher ground and bring the spirit and life back as to the home of so many. As long as you hold on to love we're going to make it; we're going to recover.

Oh Wow! The words you speak!
George: Oh, don't make me cry!

Do you have a Valentine this year?
George: I don't have a Valentine. I'm trying to find a Valentine. I don't know where she'll come from, but I'm gonna find a Valentine.

What is the most romantic gift you received or could receive on Valentine's Day?
George: I like chocolate. I'm real simple, so I would like to get a card.

What would you most like to be known for?
George: The thing I would most like to be known for is my way and how I deal with people and my love for the next person. I never want to be self-centered and think of my own well-being because there's a world that cries. You have to look outside yourself and try to help somebody else. This has to do with my song 'Fortunes'. When you smile; when you give people a loving energy it does something no matter what problems there are. The reason why the whole universe is the way it is, is because we don't love one another; we don't understand each other. Everything starts at home.

How many songs are on your album?
George: 11 and I co-wrote 5 of them so I'm excited about that as well.

This is your second album?
George: This is my 2nd album; I have a Christmas album too.

What's coming up in the future?
George: I'm definitely going to Paramount Pictures for some auditions.

That made me cry and it made me *smile* I've got a lot going on in my home life right now and it's been a weight on my heart. . something in George's words just eased the load some. God just keeps using George to speak to me and I'm so glad He does.

I love the song fortunes it was one of my early favorites. Hold On To Love spoke to my heart as well.

George!! You have dozens of valentines!! We all hold a peice of your heart and have given you ours!

That was a really cute interview!!

Ok, I must get to know Mrs. Jones better. I hope you guys have checked out her site because she is right on with her recaps of the show. But I love her because she loves GEORGE so much...but who is this mystery lady?

George even called her yesterday....and had this to say;

"It was so wonderful to be back home for Mardi Gras. I didn't know what to expect when I got here, but I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people attend. All the people were very loving and friendly to one another and full of life. I was also surprised to see so many of my adoring fans waiting to greet me. I really felt like I was at home and wanted to come back. I have no regrets of being here. There is a lot of work to be done, but New Orleans is on its way to full recovery. Laissez les bons temps rouler!"

I love Mrs. Jones, but she needs to know that I, Trish, am the real Mrs. Jones Wink
