Hey my fellow huffnation members!!!! Most of us first knew of George of course from American Idol Season 3!!! (such SWEET memories). It seems once January gets here and chat of AI about to start again that we seem to get on the boards more often. Not to take away from George in the least, but I was just wondering if you all planned to watch season 5 airing in 2 weeks. And if so, do you have any early predictions of what you think they are looking for and who you think America (or the AI staff of course) will pick this year?



I personally instead of trying to find someone that I personally like, I want to try hard to pick the person that I think will win as well. I'm NEVER right lol. If its not a male vocalist that wins this year I will be really shocked to see 3 female win it in a row and have 4/5 female winners overall. I personally always root for a guy it seems like. Not because I think they are cute or anything lol its just I like male voices a little better because they tend to be more unique. Seems like most of the girls just sound the same.


Just was curious what you all are thinking about AI5! I wonder how the ratings will be too. Love you guys!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!

I can't help myself... each year, I say that I am going to remain objective, but there is always one person who moves me. No one has touched me the way George did on the show, but I really liked Bo this year. AI5 will bring us a whole new crop of Idol wannabes and it is fun to watch their journey. I love the show, but I doubt I will ever have as much fun as I did during season three. George lit up the screen and sang his way into my heart and soul. In fact, just tonight, I was listening to the CD on my way home from work and got all teared up during "Miracles." It really was a miracle, and a blessing that his music has created this lovely group of caring people. Like Trish, I will always love George Huff!!!

OH, I'LL BE WATCHING BUT LIKE LAST YEAR I PROMISED MYSELF I WOULDN'T FALL IN LOVE WITH ANYONE LIKE I DID WITH "MY GEORGE/OUR GEORGE". LETS SEE GIRL BOY GIRL GIRL. THIS WILL BE THE YEAR FOR A BOY BUT WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL TOP 12.

I'll probably end up watching online again, since I'll be going back to school in two weeks.

You know, I'll watch I'm sure. As much as that show gets on my nerves, I won't be able to not watch...UGH! Last just wasn't the same. In season 3, I would make sure I was prepared to see George an hour ahead of time...lol. Gave the "don't bug me speach" to my husband and kid...lol.

It was so different last year. No one captured me (no one ever will). Sure my fav was Bo, but the intensity level was non existant.

I agree, it's gonna be a boy this year.

I am sure that I will watch. I am not sure that I will vote however? I dunno I guess after 4 seasons it just isn't the same.

This year though in advance I know one person who made it to the hollywood rounds so that it kind of cool.

Well I do not know her personally but her cousin is a coworker of mine. Keep your eyes open for a girl named Paris.

Paris is from Minnesota so that makes me smile and her mom and aunts sing in the gospel group "The Sounds of Blackness" so that's cool as well. My coworker Tyeista says that Paris has an amazing voice and I am excited to see her.

That alone will be enough motivation to watch.

I know I'll atleast watch some. I can't vote from here, but lots of times I put on the show and my messenger and watch with HuffNation or other US friends.

I must agree with everyone, since George and Season 3 I have not been that motivated to watch, but I did like Bo last year.

I have always prefered male singers. So naturally I hope a guy wins, but we'll just have to see.

on ai3 all i can remember on voting was for 2 hours straight the old days i watched 4 but didnt really interest me at all

GOD IS MY REFUGE AND STRENGTH

Well I do plan on watching, I can't resist either. But I am sure I will not be touched by anyone the way I was by George. I recorded every show! Season 4 I recorded a few shows with the TVO type Cox Cable box, but they are all gone because the cable box wasn't working and we got a new one. I didn't care really though. I liked Vonzell the most, she had that spunk and gleam in her eyes. Bo and Anwar were pretty good too. Carrie had great talent and a beautiful voice, but I didn't vote for her. She just was no fun to watch.

This year I am only going to vote if someone moves me. It takes too much time and effort.

Of course I will watch...but NOTHING or nobody will ever capture what George did for all of us. George spread his infectious smile...his love for the lord and created so many wonderful friendships. I don't think there is anybody else even CLOSE to measuring up to George....

Well this is the 2nd season of American Idol post George. This is also the 2nd time in a row when the season started that I enjoy still looking forward to Tuesday and Wednesday nights but its soooooooo hard knowing that George isnt on there anymore. You would think after 2 years Id be used to it but I still get all those feelings again and how exciting George made watching it!



But American Idol 5 seems good so far.....I just know I dont want another girl to win. We need another guy!!! So far I like Chris Daughtry and Zachary Smits. But there are still many more auditions to be seen and plus watching the Hollywood round tells us a lot! Im still excited to watch!

So American Idol this year has just way too much drama. It used to be fun to watch this part, but in all actuallity, its kind of boring me this year. They direct too much attention to certain contestants and is it me or does AI have WAY TOO MANY COMMERICALS?
