I was just reading that they had to halt the evacuation of the Superdome due to shots being fired at helicopters, and voilence in the streets. I feel as if we need to pray for peace and hope to fill the streets of New Orleans. I know that there is power in prayer and speaking truth over darkness. Let's rally together and offer prayer and words of peace and hope.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today asking for Your presence as we join our hearts and minds in a common prayer for peace. Fill up Your people Lord with the wisdom that only comes from You. Heal these people Lord whose hearts are scared and feel lost and abandoned. It's so easy to see the devistation and lose hope. We ask that You would kindle in the hearts of this nation a bond of unity and peace where all would find a way to offer a moment of kindness and prayer for this situation. So many have lost everything and we ask that You would bind up any suicidal thoughts that may linger in the wake of such a disaster. We pray Lord that each person who feels lost and alone would come into contact with someone who could comfort them. Lord the rebuilding process will take years and it may never be the same. Help these people find hope amidst this time of trial. Comfort those who mourn and bring peace to those who are restless. In Your name and through Your amazing grace Abba Father touch the lives of Your people. Amen.

I wanted you all to know that I talked to George yesterday. He is in good spirits. He was praising God for the gift of safety for his family. We were praying peace over Louisiana and George was casting out all spirits of lost hope and suicide. We were praying together asking God to comfort the people. George also talked with Miss Lily yesterday and she is doing well. Miss Lily is with her daughter somewhere up North. Lets offer up a voice of praise that Miss Lilly, George Huff and family are all doing well. The Huffs quickly put a plan into place to get back to living where they are at. His family members already found jobs where they are at and will continue living that wonderful Miracle we call Life. They have that greatest gift you know it's called Love and it can conquer anything. He said they are certain that they lost everything but are comforted in the fact that their family is intact and they are Holding on to Love. My prayer is that others will see the strength found in this family and see the hope that is found when people come together in prayer and faith.

Our Lord never said that it would be easy but He did say no matter what He'd never leave us. When the Rain Comes sometimes He calms the storm and other times He calms His children.

George said that he may be working on a benefit concert now. I am praying that others can hear the strength and hope found through the faith of this family.

Here is a song that comforts me. . .

Sometimes He Calms the Storm

All who sail the sea of faith
Find out before too long
How quickly blue skies can grow dark
And gentle winds grow strong
Suddenly fear is like white water
Pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing
That our Lord is in control

Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered "Peace be still"
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child

He has a reason for each trial
That we pass through in life
And though we're shaken
We cannot be pulled apart from Christ
No matter how the driving rain beats down
On those who hold to faith
A heart of trust will always
Be a quiet peaceful place

Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered "Peace be still"
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child

We in Huffnation know the treasure of prayer and place all our hope in the One who gives us strength. Praising God today asking for all to come together and offer prayers for the people.

Oh I almost forgot! Cool

George wanted me to tell you all that he and his family have felt your prayers and wanted to say thank you for the love and support of his "family" here in Huffnation too. George wanted the message of hope and love to be among us and wanted others to know that He still sees the Miracles that surround his family every day.

Life is the Miracle it's a Miracle of ordinary Love. Let's stand in the gap with George and Hold On To Love!

Thank you George for being an example of the gift and Miracle that is found with Life in Christ. Big Grin

Meesh,

Please email me directly (foxydonna@earthlink.net) I want to write something for Foxes on Idol about the effects of the hurricane as it relates to American Idol friends and contestants, and your input would be appreciated. I am getting a lot of emails from people who are concerned about George and his family, and I want to let his fans know he's okay and share his message.

Also, we need to alert the public as to which fundraiser he is going to be on. If it is the NBC show, I need to get this article posted by Friday for maximum impact.

People all around the world love George, and I want to reassure folks that he is okay and that this event has not dampened his spirit. Perhaps his message of hope can help those who are hopeless.

Thanks Meesh... and God bless all of you for continuing to carry the message of hope. The HuffNation is now being called on for its biggest challenge yet.

Donna

Thanks so much Meesh...that's a great resource guide you've created! It is so hard to watch the news and not be able to do much. Donating whatever spare cash you can come up with eases the feeling of helplessness a bit anyway. The neighborhood kids have come up with a plan to scour local churches, businesses and private residences to collect any recycleables that can be turned into cash...they're doing a fine job. Kids can be very inventive when it comes to a crisis situation!

Meesh thanks so much for this. I get paid tomorrow and I can see what I can do to make a donation. I already paid for my antibiotics for my cough, so I know that I don't have to set aside cash for that.

George and family, you guys have been so important to my life; you truly amaze me in everything you do. Your amazing faith inspires me each and everyday. I haven't even seen most of the family in person yet and I still hold you guys in my heart so much. I will always look at you all as part of my family and will always do what I can for you.

Miss Lilly I am also thinking about you and hoping you and your daughter are doing well and staying strong.

Shannon
