This was posted on the clayboard on the other music forum and I thought since it mentioned George I would bring it over here. This is a little write up from People magazing talking about some of the American Idols cds,(from the ones that did not come in one or two), that are either out or coming out.
here it is: ******************************* ******************************* People September 19, 2005 SECTION: PICKS & PANS/MUSIC; Pg. 52 HEADLINE: BATTLE OF THE AMERICAN IDOL ALSO-RANS BYLINE: ANTOINETTE Y. COULTON BODY: They may not have made it to the final two like Kelly, Clay, Fantasia et al, but these Idol finalists are still hoping to get your vote with their full-length debuts. We'll be the judge. --ANTOINETTE Y. COULTON JASMINE TRIAS Third season; placed third IDOL CLAIM TO FAME: The teenage Hawaiian pop princess. CD: Jasmine Trias, an R&B-pop collection featuring a shining version of her Idol-crowd favorite "Inseparable." JOHN STEVENS Third season; placed sixth IDOL CLAIM TO FAME: The baby-faced Sinatra wannabe. CD: Red, a set of standards to make your grandma swoon, like the Ol' Blue Eyes classic "Come Fly with Me." LATOYA LONDON Third season; placed fourth IDOL CLAIM TO FAME: The R&B diva with the pearly pipes. CD: Love & Life, a mix of sassy soul jams and powerhouse ballads like the Whitney-esque "Waiting for You." COREY CLARK Second season; placed ninth (disqualified) IDOL CLAIM TO FAME: The bad boy with an arrest record (charges were dropped). CD: Corey Clark, a party disc with up-tempo cuts like the Justin-ish "Wiggle and Shake." GEORGE HUFF Third season; placed fifth IDOL CLAIM TO FAME: The always-smiling soul man. CD: Miracles, a batch of R&B and gospel songs, including the smooth, Ruben-style ballad "You Know Me." WINNER: LaToya London, vindicated after her premature Idol elimination, in a tight finish with George Huff. GRAPHIC: FIVE PHOTOS ****************************************** I have two of these cd's Jasmines and Johns and they are both excellent and I recommend them both very much. They both have improved so much since the show and the AI Concerts. Now onto the best part of the write up. I am so happy to see that they said something really good for George. they put Latoyas cd as the winner, but Georges cd is right up there with hers in this writers mind. This is great promotion and publicity for George!! Shannon "Love is how we cross that bridge to the light " |
