I am trying my hardest to stay focused and postive. I believe I speak for many when I say this. This news is all devestating for all people involved. What makes this harder for most of us is that we've come to love all of the Huffs. They are a part of my family now and I am worried sick about all of them and Miss Lilly. I know God is watching over them. But I am here to help, count me in. I would do anything within my power to help them all. I don't have much, but whatever is mine is thiers!!!

No word yet from the Miss Lilly here either, but I know God is watching over her and the Huff family.

*****************

Father, we would ask that you ease the minds of our loved ones at this time. Keep their hearts and families calm and let them leave their worries with You.

As they brave loss and need you the most. Lift them up and show them all our love as well. Let them feel us with them. To know they are not alone in this time of waiting to return home.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

Maybe we should work together on a major recovery effort with local Red Cross organizations? I've already suggested such on the main AI boards and I'm trying to reach all of the groups to plan such...

1-800-HELP-NOW (1-800-435-7669) is the Red Cross donation number.

Hey everyone!

Still no word from Miss Lilly. Please continue to pray for her.

I did hear from Monica today. They are doing fine considering the circumstances. They still have friends and family in New Orleans and ask us to continue to pray for them.

This family's faith amazes me to no end. Although it is a very good posibility that they have lost all their material possessions, they feel blessed to have each other and know that they can replace the material things.

My heart has been so saddened by the realization of this hurricane. It's been very difficult to even function. Typing prayers here is definitely not my forte. I thank you all for the beautiful prayers, they have helped me so much.

I love you all...God Bless!!!

Smilin' and dippin' for George.

Marge that was a beautiful post. They do really amaze me and I admire all of them for thier strong faith. I have to honestly admit that I don't think I would be as strong as them.

I am having a strong calling to help all of these people. I don't know what I can do, but I want to help!

I hope we hear from Miss Lilly soon, and I will continue to pray!

Trish you aren't the only one that would like to do something. I want to send something to them, but since I don't have a lot to give I can only send so much; but in saying that. If it would help them in getting food and water at least then I will send anything to help. Trish also you are so right about how we feel about the Huffs and Miss Lily we hold them in our hearts as family and just want all to be okay.

My prayers go out to all who live in the cities so heavely hit with this devistation. I can never in my wildest dreams know what they are all going through Frown

Since alot of people had to leave quickly, they could only grab a few things. So clothes are needed to. We have over 1600 evacuees here at a shelter in town. I live in North Louisiana. I am going to go through my childrens clothes and see what I can send. I am also going to send some food and water and any cash I can spare. They are asking for toilitries Like toothbrushes and toothpaste, soapdiapers, wipes. Blankets and towels are also needed. Just thought I'd give everyone an idea of what is needed.

I am so glad to hear that the Huffs are safe. I hope that we will hear from Miss Lilly soon. I am hoping that she is just not in a place that she can easily access the internet or get to a phone. But,our God is good and he is our Protector. We must have faith that he has taken care of his child. Like I said before, you guys are amazing. Your prayers are felt by all those you pray for across the country. Prayer is a powerful thing isn't it? Wink

Dear Lord,

Thank you for keeping the precious Huff family safe. We ask that you keep their spirits up and their hearts on fire for you. We ask that you will provide them with all that they need over the next few days, weeks and months. We also ask that you protect Miss Lilly wherever she may be. Hold her close to you and love her. Please let her know how much we love and care for her. Father, I ask that you help everyone who has been affected by this storm. It will take a while for many to rebuild their lives but we know that through you it is possible. Keep us faithful to you and remind us how precious and fragile our own homes and lives are. We thank you for all that you will do and provide. We love you.

Amen.

I'm so happy the Huffs are ok. If Miss Lilly is in a shelter she will also be fine. From experience after our flood, the most help we got FAST was from the Am. Red Cross and the Salvation Army. So if you can help make donations to them. Afterwards maybe we can do something personal for them... Just a thought but whatever you decide count me in... helen

Hello my Huffnation family. I just want you all to know that I have been spending a good deal of time in quiet reflective prayer for George, The Huffs and all those who have been affected by this tragic event. I too stand in awe as Marge says of the amazing faith that this family and George has in the face of trial and in everyday ordinary life. I am blessed to call them my family too.

I've been listening for God's voice to give me wisdom as to how that I can help. I think we must continue as a "family" that is what George calls us..we are not just fans. . we are family. As family I believe we must " Hold Unto Love" as George will share with us in song soon. We need to trust that no matter how high that mountain or deep that river is that God's Love is going to carry all His children through. We must "stand" with them and of course send what we can to offer love to the many who have nothing left to cling to but love. Love from a stranger can make all the difference when you are broken and bruised.

My vision is that God is going to use the entire Huff family including our sweet George to deliver a message of hope to the many who like them have lost so much. .but truly their fortune was not in the walls of their home. .it is in the hearts of each member of their family whom they love. I say we rally around them in support and love and watch to " See What God Can Do" through our Brother George to bring hope and courage to many. Our prayers and our love is the greatest gift we have to offer. Our possesions sent through the right organization can make a difference too. Maybe someone wants to research that and post for us a list of organizations that are pulling together to help those who have nothing left.

Father,
We come before You today and lift up in prayer all those who have been affected by this tragic event. We know Lord that with You we can be strong when feel so weak. Lord You equip us with grace and mercy and carry us through the trials and tribulations. Help these poor people to find hope amidst their burdens. Bless them with shelter and shower them with Love. Lord let us be a witness to the greatest gift. Our fortunes are not amidst the material things in life but Lord through Your most powerful gift of Love we can accomplish anything. Rebuild, renew and restore faith, hope and Love to all those who are so desperately in need. Comfort those who have lost loved ones, ease the minds of those who may still not know the where-abouts of loved ones..such as our Miss Lilly. Give us and them strength to see past the burden and see the true gift of hope and Love that is ours when we embrace You. Lord we stand in the gap for our Brother George...beautiful family and the many who need our love in this moment. Abba Father You are the bearer of Miracles and they come in ordinary ways. We thank You for the miracles that surround each of us today. Amen.

love you guys!

Amen Michelle!

I am not good with public prayer, but I am asking you Lord to give some kind of sign or assurance to the Huff Family letting them know that the family they left in New Orleans are in some type of shelter and all ok. It will lighten thier load to know that all is well. I ask you to get all these people to safety. Thank you
Amen

Trish your prayers and words are beautiful....ALL of you always post very inspiring and uplifting prayers and messages....

Infact many times when Im feeling scared, I know 'huffnation' is a place I can come to reach out to my family here for uplifting and hope. Thanks to each of you who have posted beautiful prayers, im very deeply touched.

Tragedy is such a horrible thing, its shocking, but people God is in control of this! He's already taken care of it...we just have to let him fight the battle for us, for the people in the southern states, and our country. My hope is that during these very times of tragedy that the only thing we can really do is hope that many lessons are learned for the future. What I mean by that is I just hope people will turn tragedy into something joyful, such as treasuring each day the Lord gives us because we are never promised tomorrow (I remember George saying those very words to us on August 20th!), and that we wont take things for granted as much as we do (as a world in general i mean). All we can do is trust the Lord and just look ahead to a bright future that I have no doubt that the Lord will carry us through!

I love you all and thanks for making this a place to come to during times of joy but also times of need!

-Tara
