OMG.........it's tomorrow! I just looked at the time.... OMG it's today!! I'm gonna see George in about 10 hours or so! OMG OMG. I will definately be here to tell you all how it goes.

Hey everyone. Just got back from New Smyrna. We had a great time. I will get to that. I'm a litte unhappy right now because I only have 2 decent pictures. And only one of those is of George. I have a dumb camera that hates me and did not take the pictures I took of George, me and the boys. But Cory got some great pictures of the show I think. (Cory, I could kick myself now for not having you take a picture of all of us with him with your camera....grrrrr...<hitting my head on the monitor> Cause now I have nothing!)

Ok...I'll forgive myself one of these days.

We had a really, really really awesome time. It was me and my 3 boys, Autin, Elijah and Israel. And I took my friend Rita and her son Chris. I'm really too tired to type it all now because Marge interupted my typing so that I could tell her all about our day.

I do a quickie. We got there a little after 10. I saw Cory waving at me. So, we talked to her for a few minutes then we split up for a few. And I must say that her and her husband are the sweetest couple! They are so cute together. Awwwww...Ben and Cory! So the boys played on the bouncy thingys. We found out that George's plane was late and would be performing at 3 instead of 12. We went to eat...came back and George got there a little early so he came out at 2:30. He is great! I love the guy so much! They were taking some kids to be onstage with George. They came and got my Austin and Elijah (Cory, did you get any pics of this?)and about 3 or 4 other kids. He sang Bounce and I think every kid up there had a severe case of stage fright. It took awhile but they started bouncing a little. Except for my Elijah. lol After the song, he had each child say their name. He got to Elijah, and he has met Elijah before. So, when he gets to him he starts doing that Happy George Scream. Then he starts singing this Elijah song that he has sang before over the phone. I may try to somehow upload that part onto here. Cory's husband and I were told to stop recording later on during the show. But that part has nothing to do with copyrights, so, if I can figure it out...i'll put it on here.

So, then he starts hollering for me. And he knows I was bringing him brownies so he talks about those. Then of course he starts talking about other food.

He sings, I think 5 songs...6 maybe. Can't remember. He brings a lady from the church that sponsered this festival up on stage with him to sing. And they sang The Old Rugged Cross. It was so sweet!

Finally it's time for autographs and I think that's George's favorite part. When we get up there he's all excited again. We give him his gifts and his brownies and he starts sniffing them. He is so darn cute when it comes to those brownies. They had the tables set up so you couldn't get a good picture with him. You had to do it from accross the table. So I just gave him the baby and got a good one of George but Israel was trying to get George's sweat rag and wouldn't look up. Then I tell Cory not to worry about getting our picture with her camera. Dumb dumb dumb!!
So anywho....George told me to give my number to his manager and that he wanted to spend some time with us. So...did that...did some talking to her, worked out the details, and she told us to come back when the autograph line was gone. So we did...but they escorted George away (poor George) She told us she was coming back for us...and a few minutes later this guy comes to get us and says...."I'm supposed to take you to Mr. Huff" So, we go and then we got stopped at the door. They had to 'check with him first'... But then they took us back to were he was. And we got to spend 1 1/2 hours with him. It was great. We talked about everything. He told us some stories. It was just really nice to sit down and just spend time with my friend George. Before we left he prayed for us and then we made him get in the middle of all of us so we could each pray for him.

That's basically it. I was blessed just to hear him sing. And blessed ubundantly just to sit and listen to him talk. It was a great night. And I am so thankful for Mr. George Huff.

WHAT A GREAT STORY... 1 1/2 HRS WITH GEORGE...WOW...

I forgot to tell you guys the best part......NOT

I needed to go to the bathroom. And I really mean NEEDED to.. All there was were outhouses. So I asked one of the security staff if there was an inside bathroom anywhere. He said no of course. So I said...'oh well, i guess i'll just have to hold it'. Can't believe I said that to a guy but too late, it came out of my mouth. So then he tells me that the ones up by the stage are really nice for the ladies with flowers and stuff. I was thinking....how can a outhouse be really nice. And of course I refused to go check it out. But 2pm rolls around and I just couldn't not go. So I went and I was in shock...I could not believe it! It was actually like walking into a real bathroom. There were baskets with certain things in them and flower vases and a box of tissues and it smelled really nice. So... I went to shut the door but the sliding lock was stopping the door from closing. So...I forced it over so that I could shut the door all the way to lock it. When I tried to get out... The lock was STUCK!! I could not get it to budge for anything. I'm sure I was shaking the outhouse trying to get it to slide over. I was getting very scared. I was praying ...'OH God....please don't make me have to scream for help' I still could not get it to budge. I was just centimeters from needing that slider to move over so finally I just gave the door a big shove and it popped open. I can't believe I got locked in an outhouse.

And also...to Helen. George talked about you. We were talking about the security throwing away the tons and tons of stuff I brought him while on the AI tour and how he was so mad and yelled at them. And he was talking about how he loves getting stuff. He said you made him something for the Hershey show.

OMG!!!! George!!!!!

Well, my story is mostly the same as Staci's except for the end.

So, this was going to be one crazy day for me and Ben. First George on the east coast of Florida and then we had to zoom down the highway for Ben's high school reunion on the west coast of Florida. So it was all going to work out since George was supposed to perform at noon. Our drive to the west caost was going to be about 4 hours so we were going to make it with enough time to be at the reunion before dinner started. Well, GEORGE screwed things up! lol His plane got delayed so they pushed back his time to perform. Ben agreed that we had driven all the way to New Smyrna that we would stay and watch George and then hightail it over to the reunion. Thankfully, George got there a little early.

So, George performed about an hour and it was amazing. The crowd loved him, of course. It was so funny to see the kids up there with George, because like Staci said, it looked like they had stage fright. Poor Elijah looked like he didn't quite know what to do up there. lol To be honest, I really can't remember all the songs he sang because I was so enraptured with him. He is so powerful and he just pulls people in. Every time he mentioned Staci's name I would jump up and down and clap and point at her. I think I was more excited than she was, but I think she was just so proud that she can call him friend. She just had a smile on her face and you ccould just see how much she loves him. Of course George had to talk about food...collard greens, mustard greens, chittlin's, FRENCH FRIES! He is too funny. Like Staci said, we were recording but then his manager asked us to stop for copyright reason. We were disappointed but we got some good footage.

After the show, George signed autographs and he was so kind. They were selling a photo of him and of course I bought one. By now, it is about 3:45 and I know we have to get on the road soon. The problem and good thing about George is that he takes time with his fans, so the line wasn't moving too quickly even though we were close to the front. Finally I get up to him (we were in front of Staci and her clan). I smile at him and he smiles at me. I can't quite remember what I said, but then he said something like :Haven't I met you before?" and I said "Yes, I met you in Jacksonville. My name is Cory." He then gave his George scream and grabbed me for another hug. I told him I had made him a present for the Gift of Joy project. He said that he still had it. And the he said that I had sent him pictures of me and my husband. I was like "What?" and he said "Yeah, in the card you wrote me, you sent me pictures and I remember you." Let me tell, my heart melted right there. I only had a brief meeting with him at the AI concert and for him to remember me, it made me feel so special. He signed my picture. I told him I had already ordered his cd and he got tears in his eyes and said thank you. He told me it felt so good to be able to do what his heart was leading him to do with his music. This man is truly after God's own heart. Well, I gave him a card and I asked for a picture which I will post soon. I was so sad to go, but my husband was so good to me and let me stay much longer than anticipated, so it was my turn to give a little. I wanted to stay and have more time with George, but this reunion was important to Ben.

So, off we sped down the highway (and I do mean sped - 90 mph! ) I was on such a high yesterday and I can't help but smile everytime I think about it. Next time George comes, I will have no other plans and I will get some one on one time with him. But this will last me a long time! I hope I remembered enough to satisfy y'all. I 'll post some pictures soon, I promise.

awwwwww Cory!!!! Even though I was there with you I loved reading your post! You put in such sweet words..just like you! You all need to meet Cory! She is adorable! And she loves George so much. I was so worried for her when they announced that he would be performing AFTER the time her and Ben needed to leave. I wanted it all to work out for her so bad. And it did as you can tell from her post. She has the greatest husband!

Cory....you and I are gonna keep our eyes on his tour schedule. And his next trip to Florida...you and I are taking a girls only road trip! He did tell me that he was doing a mall stop in Florida. But he's either confused or it's not added yet because I don't see it.

Can't wait to see the pictures Cory!
