Ok. So I baked my Grandma's homemade oatmeal cookies, I had my camera ready, my white towel and my sign. He came out and sang so wonderfully. His first song was 'Hold On To Love', I think? I was so excited I forget. I was waving my sign and white towel, but he never looked my way. Then the second song, 'Bounce'. He had the kids come up with him, they were all excited. That was so cute. Especially one little guy clapping to the beat! He was less than 2 yrs old. Then after that he sang 'Brighter Day' near the end he looks my way and pretends he's eating some cookies with his hand! AAAH! He knew I was bringing him cookies!!! (Trish, thanks!!!).
After he sang 'Only Love', his fourth song he said "I can't wait for those oatmeal cookies" and looked right at me!
After that he said he wasn't going to sing the songs he was supposed to. He said the spirit was leading him to do some other things. He had God's Generation come back up and taught each group (soprono, alto, tenor & bass) a gospel song I think he made up "I Will Be There', then he sang 'I Have Decided To Follow Jesus', the older version our parents or grandparents know.
He was so much fun! He had everyone laughing and praising God. At the very end he sang "Only Love". What a beautiful ending!
I was able to see him at the meet n greet, there was almost no wait, cuz it was past 10pm and the croud which was small to begin with had largly gone home. He gave me a big hug. And then was like "Where are those cookies?" So I gave 'em to him. I wrote on the back of a photo I gave him "May Grace and Oatmeal Cookies always be with you" He laughed when he read that!
I told him that Miss Lilly said not to hog all the hugs, lol. And I said I needed to give him a hug for Helen, Stephanie and... He cut in and kept giving hugs to me for each of you and said "...Marge, Trish, Ann,..." and on and on, until these girls behind me were getting upset waiting. So I told him we better go, we had a 2 hour drive back to RI. He said he wished us a safe trip back and said goodbye. I will post photos later, I am still tired, I had to get up for church this morning.
Aww Carolyn Im so glad you had a great time!! Thats awesome that he knew you were comming and giving him your cookies!! Thanks for giving him a hug for me! I appreciate that! I cant wait to see your pictures!!

Man that is a beautiful story. I cannot wait until October guys. I have been telling anyone who would listen that I am finally gonna see George perform live.
One of my girlfriends who owns her own real estate office borrowed my spare cd and plays it in her office and at home so much she has never returned it.
Hmmmm I think I better just get another one, huh.
