AMERICAN IDOL FINALIST CREDITS FAITH AND A PHONE CALL NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - Season three ‘American Idol’ contestant George Huff believes his faith is what got him called back to the show. Huff was brought back to the reality series as an alternate. He was even judge Simon Cowell’s personal pick during the wild card show to determine the final 12. Huff replaced ousted contestant Donnie Williams. Williams was eliminated from the top 32 after being arrested for drunk driving. “They called me back to be an alternate on the show. Before they even called me back, I had pretty much let ‘American Idol’ go,” admitted Huff. “I said, ‘Lord, whatever you want to do with me, wherever you want me to go, go on and just do your thing.’” The personable singer would get his call, but not before stepping out on faith. “The story that nobody knows is that I had sold all of my furniture. All I had in my house was a couch, a television and a cell phone. I put myself in a position where all I had was a phone call! I said, ‘Lord, I’ve seen you heal people, I’ve seen you work and you’ve done those things because of their faith.’ Faith without works is dead! I had to exercise my faith,” said the singer. Huff ended up being the fifth runner-up in the finals. Since then, Huff released his holiday disc, ‘My Christmas EP!’, on November 9th. “Somehow, and I’m still trying to figure out, I got connected with Word Entertainment along the way,” he joked. His debut gospel album will bow early next year. “I’m fulfilling my dream,” he said. -- ©2004 CCAUTHORITY.COM BREAKING NEWS i am the last fan standing! |
