Aloha, Nicole!

I am a music major at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and I'm doing my student teaching with a private school. I was listening to Music of My Heart yesterday, and was thinking how awesome and God-honoring it would be for the choir to perform Music of My Heart. This is a Catholic school, and my goal is to spread the love of Christ and the TRUTH about His gospel. I was thinking that it could be accompanied by piano and the school's guitar ensemble. Would it be okay if I were to arrange the song for choir/piano/guitar?

I thank God for your ministry. I don't know how many people I've told about your dvd after I watched it for the first time. In another week while my mentor teacher is away, I have been given the permission to show Live in Cincinatti to three classes full of high school girls! I'm so excited to see what God is going to do.

I should also mention that I am white and my husband is black and your family is an inspiration to me. To see a Christian interracial family is such a beautiful thing.

Hi Deanna, first off welcome to the board. Are you saying you are gonna do a piano arragement yourself or are you asking if there is one available. I know there is a piano/guitar book available already.

Welcome. Have you ever seen snow in Hawaii?

I'm just kidding. We talk about snow on this board a good bit because some of us NEVER get it and want to very badly. Of course, if I lived somewhere as beautiful as where you live, I don't think I'd miss the snow.

Someone else posted about wanting to make a cd for relatives, etc. of Nicole's songs and I suggested she check with the licensing group for those particular songs (ASCAP, BMI or SESAC) before proceeding to secure proper permission. I would think you might want to do the same but as you're doing some arranging, I'm fuzzy on what type of permission you might need but if you're doing a live performance, I'm pretty sure you will need something to keep everything kosher so to speak. ASCAP, BMI and SESAC all have websites to guide you through that process.

Nicole is a blessing and a beautiful example for us all. We should tell her that more often! Lately all we do is talk about meaningless trivialities like the television show, "House" and cartoons from our childhood.
