Hey, I'm singing at Stone Mountain, GA with my mom in about 2 weeks and one song I am singing is "The Ring". My mother got it for me but I would like to know what your view on the song is. Some of the lyrics confuse me about the topic of the song. I think I understand the song for the most part about how a girl (or guys) love is precious and shouldn't be wasted and stuff. But if you could please clear this up for me, I would feel so much better singing it. Plus, a testimony might come out of this since I am only a 17 year old girl and I can relate (I think, hehe). Thank you... Kelly.

Kelly,
thanks for your question about 'the ring'...you are right. it is a song to encourage all of us to value our heart and body. and if the the person you are dating can't afford to say "i do" then you can't afford to give them what"s precious and sacred.I am proud of you for taking such a stand while you are young. In the Bible it saids a wise man forsees danger and goes the other way...there is danger (physically, mentally and spiritually)in doing the wrong thing just because it may 'feel right' for the moment. i have made my share of mistakes in life and have walk down some right and wrong roads...trust me , the rewards for walking down the right road will laed to joy in many ares with no regrets. However if you have already walked down some wrong roads yourself , then know that there is forgiveness in Jesus...if you repent and ask for it. i hope this helps a bit, and if you are still unsure about a lyric let me know what line it is much love, keep on takin' a stand babygirl! nicole |
