Music Video Shot in Birmingham by Mike McClanahan


One block of downtown Birmingham looked a bit like a Hollywood back lot Sunday afternoon. That's because contemporary Christian artist Nicole C. Mullen selected The Magic City as the site for her new video.

It was lights, camera, and action on 22nd Street in downtown Birmingham where a production crew and hundreds of extras helped Christian artist Nicole Mullen turn her new song, "One Touch," into a video.

"It's just about a person that's desperate a person that's seeking help that seeking healing not just for the physical body but for the soul also," said Mullen.

Director Andrew Erwin says Birmingham has caught the eye of more than one Christian artist in recent years.

“The Christian music community has fallen in love with it. We've shot Michael W. Smith and Point of Grace," said Erwin.

The director loves the idea of using a picturesque downtown Birmingham backdrop in his video. But as he and the crew explain, it's very complicated to control the set when it's a busy city street.

"You don't control a set like this. It's mass chaos. We didn't know if we were going to have 100 people show up or 500. We probably had a good 350 show up," said Erwin.

Assistant Director Kris Kimlin said, "So the amount of people that showed up was exactly what we were looking for, worked out great for the video."

By 6:00pm the crew was wrapping up, the extras were heading home, and The Magic City was a little closer to giving Nashville a run for its money.

Erwin added that the video for "One Touch" will be shown on the Gospel Music Channel.

Contrary to what some may have believed! I did not know in advance about this Shoot!!!!

But I think Lucie did!!

In any case, I think everyone should gang up on Nicole C. Mullen

Sure CeCeNic... but that DOES nothing to LESSEN my pain. I have to be angry at someone and I can't sure as well be mad at Nicole. So maybe my anger is misplaced. I will try to further direct it towards Lucie!

I seldom have control over what I know and don't know but I do have control over what I do with it once I do know it. In this case, there were other more pressing matters at hand and I simply assumed everyone else -like CECE- who usually knows things first, already knew! So there!

All anger of the supposed offended parties of Mello and Cece is declared misplaced and should be dispensed of directly! (and appropriate apologies circulated!)
