I finally got the QT updates I needed to see this video and my feeling about it is somewhat mixed. Actually, my feeling about the whole incident the movie is portraying is mixed but that's another subject for another day.

*For the record, Lucie Manette is all for missionaries and when necessary, martyrs. Lucie Manette becomes conflicted in the area of missions when martyrs are people with families, or in some cases, the families are martyed along with the missionaries.*

There's nothing wrong with the song, it's your basic power ballad with edgy guitars that probably has good crossover potential and may even do well on the CCM charts because it's related to the Jim Elliot/missionary story.

Nicole looks great, love the hair.

But who comes up with the concepts for these videos? What I mean is, standing in the trees, getting occasionally wet -I'm sure that was fun-looking really intense is a terrible waste of talent and imagination.

Nicole, (hopefully) has little to do with this aspect. She probably just stands where she's supposed to stand and lip-syncs whatever section is being shot. And of course in this case, it's song promoting the movie with parts of the movie being shown, but come on, the teenage boy who lives next door to me could come up with something at least as interesting.

Every once in awhile an artist is allowed to make a really terrific video. I mean a video that's worth seeing again, or asking friends if they've seen it. In recent years, Stacie's Mom comes to mind as a watch-able video with subtle yet tasteful use of the artists. Faith Hill's Cry, is an excellent concept video where you get plenty of Faith but something better than a woman standing there singing with wind blowing. (although Faith does get rained on like Nicole.)

I know, I know, it's all about budgets...

Kiersten, I hate to sound so, well, cynical, but there really isn't much to see except Nicole -who looks genuinely wonderful with big, fluffy hair- standing in what is supposed to be Amazon-ish type flora singing the song while clips of the film are woven in and out. At one point, she's getting water dumped on her while she sings. That's pretty much it. If you're hearing the song, you've got the best part already.

How hard is it to lip-sync while water is dumped all over you?

Only Nicole knows...

The only really good water-dumping scene is from Flashdance.

Meg, have you checked your Quicktime situation? That seems to be what the video plays in, and I had to go download it (it was free) for the updates. Do a search on Quicktime and it should take you to an Apple site where you can do the download in a matter of minutes.

my dad won't let us download nething and if we do we get in trouble. i think i'll just have to come to your house to watch it lol!!
