J.F. you are ADORABLE! What a fun topic.

Weren't the you one going to the Napoleon Dynamite party? Who did you decide to be?

Funyons really do ghastly things to your breath. Obviously you have some very loving friends who haven't told you. You may notice they don't stand too close, unless they're eating Funyons too...

But breath killers also include Doritos. (MEG!!!Please pass the Tic Tacs to Meg when you're done, J.F.)

Snacks, hmmm, there are just so many to choose from...

If you're talking about dry finger food, then probably homemade Chex Mix does it for me. And yes, with the garlic in Chex Mix you may pass the Tic Tacs this way when Meg has finished.

If you're talking about a cooked, "snack," then probably something supremely unhealthy like fried mozzarella sticks is on the menu. At casual parties, you may find me hanging out around the tortilla chips and one of those crockpots with the chili/salsa/cheese concoctions.

But I never double-dip.

*Lucie Manette looks with dismay upon double-dipping Kiersten and moves down the table to the bagle bites and hot artichoke dip.*

You do have a point in the towel-sharing, particularly when it's a Barbie towel, although some allowances should be made for those enjoying 12 years (12 years today as a matter of fact) of connubial bliss.

However, towel-sharing, persay, is an act of desperation, not deliberate depravation, as could be construed by the act of double-dipping...

Now Meg,

A sophmore in college has surely heard the word, "construed" before.

You're just trying to change the subject so no one will have to think about you and Kiersten double-dipping!

"Connubial" means "matrimonal" aka "marriage" of course!

Bliss? You bet. Hard won, let me assure you, which makes it all the better.

In terms of true love and all that jazz, some people, "inherit," good relationships, the way the very wealthy pass along their fortunes for generations. In other words, they meet and marry a "soul-mate" or what have you and avoid some of the angst of developing intimacy though not usually the mortgage, credit card bills or that big, "splat," sound on the carpet in the middle of the night when one of their kids throws up.

Other's though, are like the Wal-Mart folks. We don't come from romantic wealth, therefore we have "self-made" marriages that after years and years of blood, sweat and tears, create a successful union that continues to thrive over time.

I have not said this so far, but it's a given in my opinion that regardless of which type of union you have, the Lord is a significant part of both.

For our anniversary, my husband gave me a poem that did not rhyme, had the word, "gong" in it, and didn't even make much sense but was very sweet anyway. (I didn't tell him it didn't make sense, our 9-year-old daughter did!) and new bedroom furniture which arrives tomorrow. Because he prefers "homemade" things, I spent a lot of time creating for him a, "story of us," book with the help of our kids.

Perhaps I should clean up more often...
