Overview of Album:

The new album from Nicole C. Mullen, Sharecropper’s Seed, is an ode to the American spirit. The title is drawn from her mother’s memories of growing up in the south as a share-cropper’s child and the title track is a simple story of a father whose primary care in life is his family. A man destined to hard labor with the hope of the good life, the song hints at the perseverance and undying spirit that has made America great.

Each song lends a unique color to the intimate tapestry throughout. This is a moving collection of musical vignettes that open the doorway to inspiration and aspiration. “One Touch” is the biblically inspired story of mercy – a trademark Nicole C. Mullen hit. “So In Love” features famed “garbage can” percussion of Dan Weiner (Stomp) and “Eliohim” is a song that will speak to every woman.

Nicole C. Mullen has opened her heart and given us that wonderfully intimate slice of herself. She has given the world that rare and honest expression of inspired creativity – Sharecropper’s Seed.

We live a better life because of them. The premise of the album is ... for a seed to grow, it has to go down into the soil. It has to be buried. It's the principle we as Christians live on: In order to be exalted, you have to humble yourself.
