You know with school winding down and the holidays getting closer we get so busy with so many different things. Most of ya'll that know me know i'm a pretty busy person but the other day i was made to slow down. my mom had gotten this cd and i borrowed it not really paying much attention to it until one song came on and i wanted to share that song with you because sometimes i think we forget who has us in his hands.

You are right Meg, it is about a man losing his family.

If I can remember it all it goes something like this.

The man's name was Horatio G. Spafford. He and his family were due to make a trip on a boat and at the last minute He could not go due to business and would join them later.

He sent his wife and 3 daughters on ahead on a boat. Well there arose a storm and the boat captsized and His 3 daughters died at sea. His wife wired him when she made it safe and it read "Saved Alone".

He later took a boat to meet his wife and it was said that when he reached the spot that was thought that his 3 daughters had drowned, He wrote the words to this song.

The verse that sticks out with me the most is:

That to me is some very strong Joblike faith in God. That whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say, "IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL"
