Revelation Generation 2007
"Next on the same stage was Nicole C. Mullen. Her music is not quite my style, but I have to say she put on a great performance. She was very passionate and included portions of memorized scripture in her set. Three of Christian and gospel music’s most respected artists Nicole C. Mullen, Mark Harris and Shaun Groves have signed on to teach at the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Academy Talent Competition and Seminar October 12-13, 2007, the Christian/Gospel industry's official weekend training camp and competition for artists and songwriters. I know this is old, but it is so cute of a story
Platinum-selling, Grammy nominated, and eight-time Dove Award Winner, Nicole C. Mullen, made an appearance in early April, 2007 on Good Day Atlanta. She performed the first single, "Convinced," from her new CD on Word Records, Sharecropper's Seed, Vol I. Jane Fonda was also appearing on the show to promote her new movie and she caught Nicole's performance. She went out of her way to say hello to Nicole and let her know how much she enjoyed, "Convinced." She really liked Nicole's outfit, which was a great compliment. Nicole designs her own clothes and is scheduled to have her own clothing line in the near future. Photograph courtesy of: Word Records. |

Wow! Jane Fonda? Of course she liked Nicole's clothes. Who doesn't?
The Divine Miss M meets Jane Fonda. Totally cool!!! I've always sort of liked Jane. Jane's not afraid to put herself out there and then not afraid to say she blew it here, blew it there, years later. I have a soft spot for people like that since I happen to be one of them. Everyone knows "crow" has consistently been my favorite food. ____________________ Each of us is the result of a thought of God. Each of us is willed , each of us is loved, each of us is necessary. Waukee churches are opening their doors in December to invite the community to recapture the meaning behind the Christmas holiday in special events from concerts and plays to new church building dedications and Advent devotions.
It's an annual buzz that swarms around Waukee's Point of Grace Church, 305 N.E. Dartmoor Drive, when it hosts a top-notch artist in the Christian music arena. This year Nicole C. Mullen will perform her Christmas concert at the church at 7 p.m. Dec. 16; nearly 800 concert-goers are expected. "In the flurry of the holidays we are rushing to buy gifts or to make it to all the parties we have planned and if we aren't careful, we lose sight of why we celebrate the season, which is the coming of Christ. The concert helps continue the celebration of bringing Christ into the season," said the Rev. Jeff Mullen, Point of Grace lead pastor. Tickets are available online at www.pointofgrace.com or by calling the church, 987-9595. "She is really an amazing artist. This is an evening to celebrate and simply relax and be encouraged," Mullen said. Waukee United Methodist Church at 650 Ashworth Drive will put on a musical entrance to the season with an "All Is Calm" concert featuring the Waukee United Methodist's Cantata Choir at 5 p.m. Saturday and again at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. On Dec. 9 the church will sweeten the holidays with the annual Sweet Swap at 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. "People bring dozens of home-baked cookies and holiday treats and anyone can purchase a cookie box to fill with their favorite picks. The fundraiser supports our new playground," said the Rev. Tom C. Shinkle, Waukee United Methodist head pastor. Shinkle said the charm of children performing the Christmas story is not to be missed as little ones in shepherds' wear, complete with staffs, are led like lambs to the light that shines on the manger. The pageant begins at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 16 at the church. "Anyone is welcome. It's a very traditional performance; completely over the top with little lambs and wise men," said Shinkle, who invites show-goers to stay afterward and peruse the dozens of Nativity scenes on display. The collection temporarily on display is drawn from members who want to share their heritage, family history or craftsmanship. Immanuel Lutheran Church, 900 Warrior Lane, will host its 17th annual Cookie Walk at 9 a.m. on Dec. 8. Tables will be filled with trays of festive decorated cookies. Customers may purchase boxes of two sizes and fill them with your choice of goodies. There also will be pre-packaged plates or boxes available. Come early for the best selection. After nearly a year of construction and displaced worship, members of St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1200 Warrior Lane, will dedicate the new church with a service and celebration at 4 p.m. Dec. 8. At least 1,000 are expected to attend the event. As churches turn to ministry that extends beyond their walls, technology becomes a catalyst to reach Christians this season. Point of Grace has launched a blogspot within its Web site - www.pointofgrace.com - where members can share their Christmas traditions and ideas for incorporating Jesus into holiday activities. For the tech-savvy the church also offers downloadable weekly advent devotions, activities and suggested Scripture to follow along with the Bethlehem story. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

Well here are some Comments I've come across from the WOF this past weekend in
Omaha, NE March 28-29, 2008 Qwest Center about My Lil Sis Nicole. The girl is yet doing the will of the Father. Nicole C. Mullen knocks me out with her voice and dance. I keep thinking I should join her dance team and they’ve invited me to, but alas I can’t move fast enough. Most of them are around 14 years old (my Nikes are older than that). So I watch from the (sniff) sidelines rubbing the charlie horses out of my calves. (Pasty Clairmont) The thing about refreshing and renewing is that you always come back to ordinary life eventually. This weekend I had the opportunity to get away to Omaha to a Women of Faith conference. The theme this year is Infinite Grace. Grace. The concept that I wrestle with over and over again. The idea that I most long to understand, to grasp, to hold on to. The power that I want unbound in my life. What an incredibly appropriate theme for the weekend. I laughed and cried my way through the weekend. I did my best to try to copy Nicole C. Mullen when she tried to teach our midwestern crowd some dance moves. Yeah, not very successfully. As one of my friends said, “There’s years of solid farm blood in this room, farmers learn how to root themselves to the land in the midwest, and you aren’t going to get them to dance like that.” Or at least, I think she said something like that, I was too busy trying to remember which was my right hand and which was my left and which I was supposed to be pumping in the air at the moment. But the idea was there. Speaker after speaker spoke straight to my heart, straight to things I needed to hear. I may cover some of those things in future entries. It was wonderful, and we topped it off with a wonderful dinner before heading home. At home I chattered away to my husband about all the fun I had. And then I crashed and went to bed. (graceunbound") http://graceunbound.wordpress.com/2008/03/31/life-in-the-ordinary-spaces/ Monday, March 31, 2008 One Touch Last year, when we attended WOF, we were blessed to witness the ministry of Nicole C. Mullen. This year, we were blessed again!!! I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was to see she would be performing and I cannot begin to tell you the impact this beautiful woman has made for the Kingdom! In case you have never heard of her, Nicole C. Mullen is known best as a Christian singer. God has given her the gift of music and she uses it to glorify Him 100%. Watching Nicole perform was amazing all in itself, but to watch her while others were performing was even more amazing. At any given time, during someone else's speaking, singing, drama, etc., you could look over and see Nicole with her eyes closed and her hand in the air. She was praying, she was praising, she was worshipping, and she was not ashamed. There is a song that Nicole does called "One Touch". It is based on the story of the woman in the Bible who touched the hem of Jesus garment for healing. It should be playing while you are reading my blog, but you probably aren't really listening. So, I ask you for a favor. Please go here and watch this video. This song has made such an impact on me and I would so love to share it with you (Heather ) http://be-speechless.blogspot.com/2008/03/one-touch.html I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

This is a ways away, but it's good to be in the know.
Take a Break Well, I am on vacation right now basking in the Florida sun, listening to the seagulls yell as they fly across the ocean, and letting the sand squish beneath my feet. I realized how great it is to take a break and relax. Well, I now have a solution for you. Get your friends and get your family and head on the KLOVE Friends & Family Cruise. Premier Christian Cruises along with KLOVE is putting on a four day cruise full of music, family and fun. Come hear American Idol’s Mandisa, Phil Joel (once a part of the Newsboys), Matthew West, the quickly rising Rush of Fools, Sanctus Real, Building 429, Nicole C. Mullen, and more. Wait, 4HIM is also getting back together just for the cruise! You don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to hear these awesome musicians perform on one place at one time and be on the same cruise that you are on. Not only do you get to enjoy family safe music, you get to hear great speakers, see an illusionist and your kids might even get a special guest appearance from Bob and Larry. The boat launches January 2009. You do not want to miss this opportunity. For more information visit KLOVE or the Friends & Family Cruise page. http://thechurchwire.com/?p=34 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

Thanks to my sister-in-law, Janean, I had the greatest opportunity to attend the Women of Faith conference Friday night and yesterday in Little Rock at Alltel arena. It was a Fabulously Joyful event listening to speakers and musicians perform. Nicole C. Mullen is now on my list of favorite artists, man can the woman sing, and the muscles on that gal, whew! I had never been to one of these type conferences before and ladies let me tell you they are well worth your mental and physical being on attending. Next year the Faith team will be on Oklahoma City, Shreveport and Dallas, which is not far from here. I am already making plans on attending next year in Shreveport, March 27-28, 2009. It was a pleasure to get to listen to Patsy Clairmont, Luci Swindoll, Marilyn Meberg, Sheila Walsh and especially Max Lucado; all great inspirations to any soul. All of these speakers brought uplifting, mind opening and truth to what they spoke. All of what they spoke was related to one or more experiences of scripture. This years conference in on Infinite Grace and ladies I recommend if there is a conference near you to attend, it will enlighten and open your heart to what God has been trying to tell all of us about Grace. 'Cuz you know what, not all of us get it, and I have a better understanding of it now. It was also a pleasure to be able to be there with my mother-in-law............................. Little Rock pic Nicole C. Mullen was AMAZING! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What a weekend! We went to Conway this weekend so Mike could go to another conference in Little Rock, and while we were there my brother Mark watched the girls so Mom and I could go to a little conference in Little Rock ourselves...Women of Faith! We had SOOOO much fun!! If you are close to one this year and are wondering about going, I say go. Last year the preschool I was working for paid my way to go, and it was great, too. This year my Mom's church got a 2fer1 deal, so we decided to go, and then at the last minute they couldn't find a bus driver so asked if we'd take people in our car, and my way got paid again!! God is so good to me. Anita Renfroe (the Mom Song lady) wasn't there this year, and I missed her. But Nicole C. Mullen was the featured singer and she ROCKS! I love her! The girls and I love to dance around the family room to her "Live" CD, so this weekend I got to dance with 10,000 women. I hope I didn't embarrass my mom... Just kidding, I know I didn't. I've seen her act the same way with Bill Gaither videos. Anyway, here's a song that was new to me this weekend that really moved me. (And she brought the house down with "Redeemer"!) http://kecia-walkingbyfaith.blogspot.com/2008/04/what-weekend.html http://kecia-walkingbyfaith.blogspot.com/2008/04/what-weekend.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://hogwildharrisfamily.blogspot.com/2008/04/women-of-faith.html This weekend I made a quick trip to Little Rock. My mom and I went to the Women of Faith conference, and boy was it amazing! I was so blessed by each of the wonderful women who spoke and sang. I had the opportunity to hear Max Lucado, Sheila Walsh, Nicole C. Mullen, Luci Swindoll, Marilyn Meberg, Sandi Patty (who I grew up knowing and loving), and my personal favorite- Patsy Clairmont! This is her picture below. I laughed until I cried and then I laughed some more! Her stories are wonderful, but what really makes her beautiful, as well as all of the other gals, is their love for their Savior! Nicole C. Mullen was another one of my favorites. I just love her music- her powerful and honest songs. One of my favorites is "When I Call on Jesus". The chorus goes like this: When I call on Jesus, All things are possible I can mount on wings like eagles' and soar When I call on Jesus, Mountains are gonna fall 'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call I know that these are such simple words, but they really speak volumes to me. The past several months I have really been learning the power of prayer. I thank God that we have the privilage to bring our needs to Him! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

Women of Faith Conference-
We had an amazing time at the conference! It felt so good to go and listen to a group of ladies, and one male speaker, speak only of the amazing work of our Lord! I went praying for an open heart, to hear a speech that would help me in the few struggles I am going through. Friday night, we heard a few speakers, but the one who stuck out was Max Lucado. He spoke of his new book 3:16, which of course is based on John 3:16. He went on to recite the scripture and he said the one word that stood out to him was the word, "whoever." He asked us to raise our hand if we weren't a "whoever." That word does not discriminate gender, race, nor anything else. It's amazing to see how the Lord accepts us all, and shows it in many, many scriptures. He also used the words "however," "whenever," and "wherever." It doesn't matter, He loves you no matter what. He used the story of the prodigal son, and it has hit me pretty hard. I have heard two sermons about the story in the last few weeks. My brother is going through a rough time right now, and I plan on talking to him and using this story to lend him a helping hand. I feel the Lord has put me in these places to hear these sermons, so I can help him. Please be praying for him. We also heard Nicole C. Mullen, which I have never heard of before. She was awesome! I couldn't understand a lot of what she was singing b/c it was too loud, but it was still beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes. You know it's beautiful if you can't understand the words, but still cry! I am enjoying her cds now! http://wheretheroadbegins.blogspot.com/2008/04/women-of-faith-conference.html I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

Speaking of skipping Saturday night I watched Nicole C. Mullen’s troop of dancers play tag in the courtyard of the Inn we were staying at. I wanted to join them they were having so much fun romping about giggling and hiding. Their youthful vigor infused the air with life.
These girls ages 11-15 had already had an extensive workout during the concert with Nicole. I mean they dance really hard, song after song. Their routines are intricate and synchronized (like aerobics on steroids). I wondered where they were getting the surge of strength to run about with such abandon after an exceedingly full day. That night as they filled the courtyard with joy I leaned into the breeze of their laughter… http://www.patsyclairmont-blog.com/?p=25 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |
