Hi, I am seeking permission to use part of Nicole's song "My Redeemer" on a DVD that I am making for a persentation of the story of my life. I have been a missionary in West Africa for almost 20 years and I show the story of what I saw there and about two Muslims who came to Christ. At the end of the presentation, I show my father who had asked me why I waisted my life in Africa. At the very end I tell that after 31 years of prayer, I led my father to Christ a few days before he died. I want to play just the beginning of the song, I KNOW MY REDEEMER LIVES. I show a picture of my father and then I say, now he knows why I went to Africa as a missionary. How do I go about getting permission to use part of that song that Nicole C. Mullen sings?

I got your message here at our office and spoke to you over the phone, but I thought I'd post here as well in case anyone else has a similar question.

The best thing to do is to contact Word Records (615)726-7900 and let them know your question and they can direct you to the correct department for permission. Word has to give their final permission for use of any of Nicole's songs or recordings.

Typically, as long as you are not selling it, or broadcasting it--it should be fine. But again, just contact Word Records, and they can walk you through the process of what you'd need to do to get permission.
