This Is soo fuuny. Nicole I know you said in the Everyday People interview you were just like everyone else but it's scary how much we like the same things or a lot of them.

Love ya Sis.

quote:
"My life is probably a lot more like yours than you think," she suggests. "The same struggles that you may have, I have sometimes, and the same joys that you experience, I can experience them, too. Nicole's favorite tv show is Alias?

We must talk.

The best show on tv right now is HOUSE!!!

That's, "House, M.D." if you want to get technical with it.

I don't care if he was Stuart Little's "dad," or received an unfortunately positioned jolt of electricity in 101 Dalmations. He was quite good in Sense and Sensibility and in addition to being just plain fine, (and a rather talented jazz pianist) Hugh Laurie as this very-crabby-yet-essentially-good-hearted doctor sends Jennifer Garner and all her wigs somewhere off to the Hinterlands every Tuesday night. I mean gee, with the exception of Sponge Bob, where else can you find super-slick lines like, "If her DNA were off by 1 percent, she'd be a dolphin..."

Not really for kids though. Not really for squeamish adults either. And probably not for idealists who think all doctors must be nice in order to be competent...

On the other hand, my nine-year-old daughter tries to sneak out- because she's in the in-bed-by-9-reading-with-the-flashlight-on-phase- and watch a little because she wants to be a doctor someday and thinks those internal shots of blood clots racing to the lungs and intestines constricting are exceptionally riveting and informative.

I think you might have to be alive for awhile, at least long enough to have something truly unfortunate happen to you that was someone else's fault, to really appreciate the humor, depth and emotional distance of House.

However, I was at the pediatrician's office yesterday morning and was very glad that the doctor who treated my 3 month old, was -in terms of bedside manner- not like House at all.

Unfortunately, Alias comes on at a rather inconvenient time for a mom of 4.

So, how about Jimmy Neutron? I mean, who can resist Carl and his llama songs?

House is on Tuesday nights at 9:00 (EST) FOX

Alias is on Thursday nights at 8:00 ABC (I think.)

Check local listings, etc., etc., etc. because it might be different in your area.

Jimmy Neutron is, yes, Cece, a cartoon. But it's known in adult circles as, "a quality toon." Jimmy has a very large head because his brain is so big.

Ok I would never catch alias cause I am at choir practice on Thursdays at that time, Tuesdays I am at youth meetings so I guess that is why I miss every thing. Ummm I hate cartoons so I would never have even thought to look at Jimmy Neutron, lol. I guess it's back to my norm.

Cece, don't you know a cartoon here and there will keep you young?

Now, if only I were smart enough to figure out what the heck is happening on Yu-Gi-Oh. My two oldest children have tried to explain the intricate relationship that exists between little Yu-Gi and Yu-Gi in the Pharoah spirit, the mind-reading abilities of Pegasus and this whole millenium puzzle thing, but it's all a mess to me. A mess of cards I keep finding in every room of my house, that is. Cards in the sofa, cards in my purse, cards under the bed, cards in the sock basket...

Alias is about to start doing reruns on TNT so maybe you could catch a few episodes there in between all the Law and Order.

Cece, you're making me feel like the board needs to send you a copy of Finding Nemo...

No cartoons? Not even a Veggie Tale?

Lol, see you not gone make look like I am completely in the dark ages, I have watched the fish movie, and umm we do own veggie tales, but I sure don't wake up missing them or with a hankering to watch em.

The kids truly love both of those, but I will sitting there going in my head, that crap can't happen, wanting to hit the tv, meanwhile they are having a blast. And btw, Nemo needed a time out for disobedience. LOL...

......running from the room quickly.

Kiersten,

I think the cards are one of only a couple of similarities between Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, but it's the cards that really seems to be the big attraction.

Gee, when I was a kid, Speed Racer was the man. No cards, just a lunch box and he had a really catchy theme song...

Cece,

What do you like?

Let's see, I like Baseball, Hotdogs, applepie and chevrolet. Sike!!

However I do love some sports. I love Basketball, Football and Tennis. I like going to Plays and Live Orchestra. I am not much of a movie goer, but I will every now and then, hence I am waiting on "The Gospel" to come out.

I Love to Read and Listen to Music. I love to snap pics with my cam or videotape. Well that's a few, I am sure I just bored you to tears. But that's what I like.

Hm...

Cece, it sounds like you are more of a "doer" than a "watcher." That probably means your house is very clean.

I like anything that has absolutely nothing to do with reality. You know, to quote Cece, "all that c*** that can't really happen." Books, movies, music, art, writing, talking, thinking, cartoons with my kids, staring into space, well, those pretty much work for me. Fortunately, I married my polar opposite which means I can partake of more responsible pleasures like electricity and a few major appliances.

Kiersten, are you talking about "Trollz?"

Ummm well well ummm I do like Gizmo's and I do have quite a few collection of Beanie babies. So there I am normal.

Oh and another thing, I wish my house was clean like that, by the time I clean upstairs inkum, blinkum, and nod has destroyed downstairs and the process goes on and on and on. Whew I am tired just thinking about it.
