Because House has now been pre-empted by baseball *sigh* I have more time on my hands than I should (hehe!) and have a burning question:

What is the "mystery noise" on Black White Tan?

Does anyone know? When I first bought this album in 2000, I thought it was just the tape (think I got it on cassette back then) screwing up but the other day I burned it for my daughter and her friend and dang it that noise is still there! What is it?

(Cece's asking, "Where is it?") It's in the musical interlude section towards the end. It sounds like a rooster crowing. Or a turkey going "gobble-gobble." Or maybe one of those noises telling you to be the 28th caller to win 50 million dollars.

What is that noise? Is it there on purpose? A fluke of engineering? A fly caught in the mixing process?

Everyone run along and listen to Black White Tan and tell me if you hear the rooster... It could be just me. Smile

Are you sure? I mean, do you know this factually? Tom and I were listening to it today and we didn't think it sounded exactly like laughter although that would've been our first guess too. It appears in a rather awkward place.

Still love the song though! It's probably my favorite!

Oops! Yes, um,that would be Peter Parker who is no longer listening for the mystery noise and is at present snoring like Fred Flintstone.

Or Fred Sanford.

Or Larry the wonder dog. (hehe!)

Take your pick! Smile

Have I ever mentioned my silence-while-sleeping phobia? It's true. In addition to my phone phobia and my frog phobia, I am deathly afraid of sleeping in a room (or a house) with no noise. Must have some kind of noise. Fan. Something. So no objections to snoring except that it's intermittent. So, to fill in the gaps from the *makes snoring noise* I have one of those whoosh-whoosh machines that provides a fruit-cup like me with some white noise so I can sleep!

So there. God bless all those who snore. (and save them sleep apnea!) And God bless Radio Shack from whence my sleep machine came...

Smile
