The pictures are great. Thanks so much!
But now I have all these hair questions.... ____________________ Each of us is the result of a thought of God. Each of us is willed , each of us is loved, each of us is necessary. Pope Benedict XVI |

Cece, I'm just a dumb white girl from Georgia who's basically had the same hair since...the 7th grade. Even when I try to change it, it's still the same. And I rarely try to change it because I just don't care about my hair.
The exception to the "I don't care about my hair" is my current ethical quandry of whether or not to fight the aging process of my 40s and move into my Emmylou Harris years with pride, or color it like everyone else. For me, it's a matter of integrity. Am I being honest with myself or the world if I color my hair when I have a few grays? Am I simply feeding the youth-obsessed culture and further contributing to age-discrimination when I purchase that box of L'oreal? Should I not be setting a better example? Or am I doomed to fall beneath the sword of my own flimsy vanity? I have the same questions about cosmetic dentistry but I'll spare you. Please explain Nicole's hair to me. I'm like "Monk" (the tv show) about things like this. I won't be able to think about anything except trying to understand Nicole's hair, i.e. the recent short, red do vs. the B'ham do. Which hair is hers? ____________________ Each of us is the result of a thought of God. Each of us is willed , each of us is loved, each of us is necessary. Pope Benedict XVI |

All of it, there's a saying in Black Culture, or at least here where I am.
Whether you Grow it, Sew it, Weave it, or Believe it. It's Yours. Nuff said, backing out of this room. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

I was also at this event. I loved Nicole before but after seeing her perform and meeting her. I feel I have made a lifelong friend. I also have a 3 year old that fell in love with Nicole. She is truly a blessing.

Ok coming back. Hello Angie and welcome. I know about 3 year olds. My grandson who I am raising, loves Nicole so much. He doesn't think anybody should be played in the CD player but her or sometimes he will permit CeCe, lol.
His nickname is Scooby, so you know when everyday people is going, He thinks she is singing to him. I am glad you guys had a great time and I know exactly how you feel after a "Close Encounter Of The Nicole Kind". God Bless! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

Don't back out of the room. I won't tell. There are so many pithy sayings in Black Culture. I need to learn more of these things. But the whole hair scene? It all seems so stressful to me. Whether covering grays or wearing extensions like Victoria Gotti, it's just too much work! I'm tired just thinking about it. And also, even if I were to ever seriously consider something very daring or additional to my own head, I have an inconvenient condition commonly known as "get-caught-itis." Some screwy thing will happen (think Ms. Streisand here in The Mirror has Two Faces and the ride in the taxi that left her hair piece in her hand and a look she described as, "attacked by wolves.") If it could happen and it would unquestionably be embarassing, it will happen to me. Yes, I believe the Emmylou Harris look is on my agenda. But for the record, I've always thought Nicole's hair was lovely. Short, long, big, straight, braided, high-lights, red, black, it's all "hers"(per the pithy saying) and she wears it well. ____________________ Each of us is the result of a thought of God. Each of us is willed , each of us is loved, each of us is necessary. Pope Benedict XVI |

Hey Angie, no my grandson calls me NaNa. Some of my friends and all the guys here call me that. So I just accept it and enjoy. It's beginning to grow on me. My only request is, don't call me that in front of CeCe Winans, lol. But I answer to it, Some folks even call me Nicole, I answer to that to, but err don't call me that in front of you know who, lol. Aight, I am out of here. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |
