Well I do sorta kinda wanna give birth to a daughter of my own flesh. I mean I would not trade my daughters for the world, but I always wanted to have one and have that great Mother Daughter thing I have only dreamed of.

Cece, I hope you got to see the other 3 pics.

I wouldn't take anything in the world for my girls. Having daughters is really special. Having sons is too, but in different ways.

Once, while driving to seminary for a weekend a couple of years ago, I planned to stay overnight at my sister's place in SC. I took Jonathan with me. He was wearing his Batman costume and he was only 6. On I-20, I had a flat tire. Naturally I freaked out. From the back seat came the voice of reason, "Calm down Mom, just pull over and go slow to the next exit. I think you can buy some foamy stuff to put inside the tire at one of those stores. And if you go there, can I get some candy?"

Children truly are a gift from the Lord. I wouldn't trade a single second and I don't want to miss a single second.

Awwww you have spawned (haha) some beautiful offspring Lucie. I'm just now getting around to seeing this post...but, each and every one is so precious!!

I really do believe that if I ever had kids, I would want MAYBE one girl, but all the rest boys...Maybe that's because I have two younger sisters and...and...having boys just seems like a lot more fun!! Smile They seem much easier to raise...

Kiersten, you're hilarious.

What I've been told so far is that boys are more difficult when they're young, and girls are more difficult in the teen years.

I'm sure there are plenty of parents out there who will refute this. I think birth order has a great deal to do with it also.

It has been MY experience that boys just have the whole house torn apart all the time with all kinds of shenanigans and weird-stuff. My daughter would never think of trying to drink out of two glasses at one time. Nor did she ever want to wear a super-hero costume, or a costume, period, every day of the week for two years.

A friend of mine, a Presbyterian minister, has three sons. He kept smelling this weird smell and discovered that the boys -all close in age- were peeing into the air-vent in their room. I mean they dared each other to do it. (they were young, 5,7,8 etc.) Not many girls would think of doing something like that.

Another friend from seminary had two girls and a boy. The boy would smell chairs after someone sat in them to determine whether or not:

a. that person's "bee-hind" smelled.
b. if it did, he wasn't sitting there.

What girl would think of doing that?

*Lucie Manette suddenly wonders if Kiersten is a secret chair-smeller whose life mission is to prove Lucie Manette's possible gender discriminatory generalizations are indeed, false.*

Hahahahaha, all those examples you gave of what boys will do are precisely the reason why I want them. Big Grin I think it's just my sense of humour or something. I think that that kind of stuff is hilarious (I'm not saying I do it, and you could never catch me smelling a chair) BUT those are the types of things that I don't think I could live without...it brings laughter.

If I had sons, I would prolly get in just as much trouble as them...unless it was MY air vent they were peeing in...then, out comes the belt. I'm thinking of having the kind of family like Cpt. Von Trapp has in the Sound of Music...whistles and marching...mmmmmmhmmmm...that will be my family. SmileWink

Wow, those two things are really contradictory...just realised that...I'm gonna have to think about this....Confused

If you promise you won't tell anyone, I think all those crazy things boys -especially my boys- do are very funny too!

Well, I was the one taking the picture!

I'm not terribly photogenic which is also directly related to the lack of pictures of me currently on the memory card of the digital recorder/camera. Perhaps one day soon I'll post one.

I don't have facial hair, and it's much longer than Peter Parker's, obviously, but strangely we look a little bit alike. I mean, I look I could be his sister although I'm not his sister and his real sister looks nothing like him.

None of the above probably made any sense.

Or if you don't want to post your picture, then don't...other than being slightly curious, it doesn't really matter to me all that much what you look like. Smile So, by all means, don't feel like you have to.
